Hzrdus Gen 4 Black vs Tensei White

Just thought to drop a "review" of these two shafts.

 

Got a TSR3 driver, came with a Hzrdus Gen 4 Black, 6.5 60g.  Also have for comparison a Tensei White 75g X Stiff.

 

I have been trying them both, and having had an Evenflow white T1100 6.5 70g in my previous TS2, I was recommended the Tensei white as being the most similar.

 

I WAY prefer the new Hzrdus black - the tensei I am finding way more harsh, even when I hit the middle of the face.  Getting an unpleasant feeling through the shaft - could be the difference in weight and torque, but I don't think so.

The Hzrdus Gen4 seems to be really smooth, while standing up nicely when I really go at it.  Seems to be the best of both worlds- very happy with it!

 

Anyone else got similar feedback?

I got the complete opposite Experience. 

 

HZRDUS feels like it is lagging behind me. I can't get the shaft to the Ball and everything is push right. Feels heavy and for me not controllable.

 

Much prefer the Tensei and game it the last 2 Years. Beautiful Shaft and a smooth feel for its profile.

Agree with above poster. I cannot stand the HZRDUS black and have had same results, sprayed it everywhere.  Also spun way more than I expected.

Wonder if it is a Transition/Tempo thing?  Interesting.

Try the 1K PW.  Much smoother compared to the AV white which I wasn't fond of.  My ball speed jumped up 2-3 mph as well.  I've never gotten along with any of the Hzrdus shafts except the smoke green hulk.

Agree with OP regarding HZRDUS Gen4 Black vs Tensei AV White.  But like @phizzy30 noted above, Pro White 1K is a better fit for my swing.  

 

Always find it interesting how 2 golfers with same SS can have entirely different reactions to same shaft because of transition, release etc.

I play the 1k white but also really like the Evenflow Riptide Black. Just another option

Tensei AV White for clarity. Found the original Tensei White (First Generation) stouter than the AV Series, but still much better than the Hzrdus.

 

Game the original Tensei White in Hybrid and 4 iron and they are perfect.

We love to hear the feedback on our new HZRDUS Gen 4 Black! Keep hitting bombs down the fairway!

HZRDUS Gen 4 Black is really a winner for me currently.  It actually dethroned a Ventus Black I had been hitting all Winter and was intending to game this year.  First round out with the Ventus was less than optimal so decided to give the HZRDUS a try and everything just came alive.  Been driving the ball great since the swap for the last 5 rounds.

I am actually shocked how much I like HZRDUS Gen 4 Black in my Srixon ZX 5 LS, as I didn't get along with the previous versions of the HZRDUS Blacks.   I had a RDX Blue in a Sim 2 awhile back, that is more my profile generally, going back to the original Matrix Red Tie.

 

I can hit it high or low, and never seem to fight the shaft, but it never feels lose at all.  May have found a great profile my my swing....

HZRDUS Black Gen 4 is smoother than the White for me.

The white is still a great shaft but the Black is Low/Mid and soo smooth for me in my Rogue. I replaced my Tour AD XC-7X with the 70 6.5 Gen 4 Black.

The Tensei seems to work better with a quicker transition whereas the Hzrdus has a wonderful kick with a more moderate tempo.

Interestingly enough the Gen 4 Black has a lower ballflight for me than the Tensie white as well. The XC-7X is highest of the 3 but not a lot.

To me the Gen 4 Black also has more kick and a lower ballflight than my old favourite, the Aldila Tour Green.

I have kept the Green in my Fairways to this point, but plan on experimenting with the Gen4 Black.

This has quickly become my new favorite.

wanting to try a Gen 4 but need help with choosing flex. As I am aging, my swing speed is now about 95 mph. Depending on shaft, sometimes stiff works best and sometimes Reg. Any help with how the Gen 4 black plays would be very appreciated.
