Bushnell Pro X3 issues?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone with a Pro X3 provide a crisp picture of what their display when in red looks like.  I just bought one yesterday from Golf Galaxy and when I tested it out at home I found in the red display mode the battery symbol doesn’t show a complete icon it’s like incomplete on the battery symbol that surrounds the bars.  Then when looking at the red display in the house you can see a bunch of extra graphics but when looking outside besides the battery symbol it looks ok.  I’m just not sure if this is something to wrong with the display or this is normal.  I’m coming from a Leupold GX-4i3 and that looks completely normal all the time.

I have the same problem with mine. Did you find a solution?

Yeah I went and exchanged mine out with another one and it was fine.  I strongly believe this is a quality control issue with Bushnell and I’m a little concerned moving forward if anymore issues as I have to deal with them instead of Golf Galaxy.  To be home pretty disappointed for a $600+ flagship rangefinder!

I've heard from a friend of mine that works at a local shop here in SoCal that the X3's have an issue with the reticle being dimmed - they made them ship back all of their stock.

Mine did this also. To their credit, the associate was aware of the issue and promptly offered a FedEx label to return the current unit for a new one.

I have the same problem with the bluetooth and battery icons not being visible with the red display.  I've reached out to Bushnell via email.  Hopefully they will replace it.

I have the same issue when utilizing the red display, the adjusted readout is slightly cut off. After email Bushnell's customer service, then advised to call a given number. I was told this is a known issue and that an update, (I highly doubt this is a software vs hardware issue) is being worked on via the app to resolve the issue. Im about to call again, this is NOT ok for the price of the unit!

Thanks I was told to send mine in for a warranty exam and will keep the group updated in what the result is.

I'm having the same problem, red characters are barely visible across the entire display.  Black works fine but red is useless at this point.  Red was fine when I first bought it but now it's completely unusable.  Contacted Bushnell and they suggest i change the battery and if that doesn't work, send it back.  For $500 I expect better quality control as it appears this is a common problem.

The readout in red for me is barely visible at this point - getting progressively worse. I contacted Bushnell and they told me it was a known issue they were trying to fix. They asked me to hold off sending it in for a bit but at this point I cant even make out yardages. The merchandise person from our club is extremely down on Bushnell products - apparently there are all kinds of quality issues that extend beyond the X3.

Still think it's bad customer service to take the unit back and not replace it for weeks when they know it's a quality control issue on their side.  $600 rangefinder shouldn't have these issues, and if they do occur, they should make the warranty repair as seamless and painless as possible.

Has anyone ended up returning the Pro and going with another option? After reading reviews, I was going to upgrade from an old Leupold Gx3i2 but the quality issues have me concerned. I’m going on 9 years with my current range finder and never had an issue. Mostly looking for slope and some new tech but may hold off for a bit.

I also had the LCD issues.... After contacting support they had me ship my Pro X3 back and sent a replacement...

Now two months later I have a fiber in the display 😞

I have contacted Bushnell again.

Considering that the pro x3 is supposed to be IPX7... This fiber must be from someplace inside.

Oh and yes, I did Clean the front and rear lens 🙂

It's a known problem, I sent mine back when most of the red display wasn't visible and they replaced it with a new one.  Sad a device that costs $550 isn't reliable but at least their customer support took care of things.
