Long end of bag

After driver I have 16* and 19* hybrids, then onto 4-PW. But I think I’m just going to pull my 2 hybrid out since I don’t use it and don’t see much of a distance difference to 3 hybrid since I’m a lower launching player. I’ve had a 3 wood in there a few years ago but took it out because I just find it too hard to hit. I hit my 3 hybrid really well and get plenty of distance out of it so I don’t feel like I need something in between that and driver.

Gave up on hybrids.  Longer than my long irons but not nearly as accurate. My irons have more traditional lofts. 3 iron has a 22* loft so not so difficult to hit. Keeping the ball in play makes more sense to me.

Last season I played:

 

D (Stealth Plus) 9.0

3w (Stealth Plus Rocket) 13.5

2 (699 Pro Utility Iron) 17

4 (699 Pro Iron 1* strong) 20.5

 

I didn’t love this gapping. The 3w was a bomber off the tee but it was too long off the deck to be useful, similar for the 2 utility iron. 
 

This year going with:

 

D (Stealth2 Plus) 10.5

3w (Stealth2 Plus) 15

5w (Stealth2 Plus) 18

3i (659 CB) 20

 

5w is hitting just as long as the 2i from last season with much more ability to hold a green when needed

I've been struggling with this area of my bag for a couple years now.  Mostly because I struggle hitting my 19° hybrid.

I currently have:

Driver - 8.5° down to 7.5 (260-275 carry)
3 wood - 15° (235-245 carry)
3 Hybrid - 19° (215-225 carry)
4 iron - 22° (200-205 carry)
5 iron - 26° (185-190 carry)

Currently not happy with my 3 hybrid.  Hybrids have always been weird for me.  I tend to slice them, which is odd since most people who don't like hybrids hook them.

7 woods look really weird to me with that much loft.  I send them way too high in the air.

I've thought about these other options:
- 5 wood + 4 hybrid or chunky utility + then 5-PW irons
- OR keeping same setup but swap 19° hybrid for Callaway UW 19°.  I had a 17° in the past and loved the shape (in between a hybrid and fairway wood), but it went the same distance as my 3 wood.  I prob need a 19° and take the loft down to 20°.

Take a look at my signature as that's what I've been doing for those spots in my bag.  There's a few times I adjust it for windy and/or rainy days, but it's UW and 22* hybrid for my best results.

I just got the top end of my bag settled and love it. I hit long irons well so they're my preference. 

 

- Driver 8.75*

- 4 wood 16.5*

- 3 iron 20*

- 4 iron 24*

 

This allows me to still use 4 wedges and keeps my gapping perfect for myself.

2W @ 13° (Purchasing in Sept) - Adj from 11.5 - 14.5

2H @ 17° (Purchasing in Sept) - Adj from 15.5 - 18.5

3I - 21°

4I - 24°

 

And so on. Technically the 2W is considered a strong 3, but I've always been partial to that lower loft. I ditched it with my 2nd 3 Wood (which I still have but am soon replacing) and I don't like it as much. Plus, I get to mess around with 11.5 degrees and turn it into a "deck driver" lol.....
