Upcoming Portugal golf trip

My golf group is making the trip to Portugal’s Silver Coast at the end of September. We’re renting a house in Foz Do Arelho and playing Oitivos Dunes, Royal Obidos, West Cliffs (twice), Praia D’el Rey (twice), and Penha Longa. If anyone has played the courses lately or has any restaurants to recommend I would appreciate it.

Oitavos is a really nice course so I’m sure you will enjoy it. Otherwise, a must is to go to a Fado cafe or bar or restaurant. Not sure where you will find one but they will be around. A Portuguese tradition. Well worth it.

I’ve been to Portugal before and a few of us are going in a day early to see Lisbon. We will hit Alfama that night for sure. Oitivos will be our first round, so counting the days!

88 days until our golf trip to Portugal. How has the weather been so far? Any unusual weather patterns, drought, or excessive rain that has effected the courses?

not really any outstanding weather events so far. the iberian peninsular had a dry winter and some heat events in spring time, Portugal was a bit protected from some humid wind out of the west from the ocean. weather typically is dry and even more dry. large bush fire in late summer are allways possible and a problem in this area.
