Your poem/sonnet brings back memories of me backpacking in Europe (decades ago) ... and a satisfying stein of  beer (or three?) in a tree-lined square in Berlin "unter den Linden" ... cheers (albeit i don't have @Argonne69's iadetic memory to recall / rate that specific stein of lager!)

Jen Kupcho when interviewed post R1 said that -4 (R1) was her par.

 

c. -20 for the event win, means we have 25 or so with a chance.

 

9 years of this event, we know the reality.

Minjee needs to go work on her chipping. She was just short of both par 5s on the back with fairly easy chips and walked away with pars on both.

The main key to Aditi improving this season is adding almost 20 yards in distance. In 2022 she was DFL on tour, now she is about same as Lyds. 

 

She does everything else averageish too, but she is excellent in bogey avoidance, playing mistake free, high IQ golf.

There's a bunch of new names/faces at the past couple LPGA events that i don't recognise ... i.e. presumably rookies/ lower-tier on the Priority List who are finally gaining entry into these events?

Re Lydia I would bet a lot that the minimum amount of time she put in (practice, fitness, etc) during any six month period over 2021-2022 exceeds the amount of time she's spent on her game in the ~six months of 2023.  In that sense, it wasn't hard to push the sell button at the end of last year.

 

Two big tournaments are coming up; hopefully she can find it, grab one of them, and book her ticket to the HoF.

Hard to believe Lexi missed the cut here. Was she doing a PGA pro move and missing the cut so she'd be rested for back to back majors? 

 

Rose Zhang needs to call a USA players only meeting. Seems like too much red white and blue below the cutline.

The first player is Germany's Polly Mack. She's a rookie playing in her 9th event this season. 'Just made her 3rd cut.

OK, don't really want to fire up the conspiracy engine, but why do I get the sense that when a top player is not firing on all cylinders the week before a major, they seem to miss the cut and get out of Dodge? I sense that making the weekend to pick up a small check isn't worth the strain on the body, and that two extra days of practice and/or rest is a better use of the weekend.

At least the Solheim players (minus Lexi)  are doing well/ok ish! Knight, Kupcho, Al Lee, Corpuz, Khang can still make some noise today!

if you dont want to play the weekend before a major dont play in the tournament. its the solution that good pga pros take. getting a full weeks worth of work/prep in to just miss the cut is a waste of time and effort.

And it’s good to see that both Nelly and Lilia Vu are entered in next week’s KPMG.  Hope that holds and both are able to play.

Certainly didn't expect Ayaka to be this consistent since last year - thought that Shibuno had much more "fanfare" coming into the LPGA  (clearly bec of the AIG Open in 2019). 

 

Even Nasa has not really gotten off to a good a 1H of 2023 than Ayaka.  So much for length of the tee 😎 

 

Hopefully Furue hangs on to get a well deserved win for 2023 after knocking on the door so many times already...

It's nice to see a long, tough par 3. The 13th is open in front, but from the tips the bunkers certainly come into play.
