VOID putters

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any experience with them? My cousin ordered one today to give it a run… curious if anyone has thoughts on them.

I’ll see him in November and see if I can provide a review if no one has gamed one.

Just watched their ad. Interesting approachh but nothing too amazing. Others have addressed this problem in similar ways. Envroll has a very similar approach making the toe and heel have more surface area making the toe and heel hotter than the center. Similar idea and similar results.

I’ll chime in here. I worked on the design for Void. I’m happy to answer any questions, I’m not trying to sell anybody anything. Just trying to clarify the technology.

Yes, the tech is addressing the same distance off-center issue that Evnroll and a lot of other groove pattern designs attempt to solve.  The approach is different in that it doesn’t rely on milling patterns. 2 main advantages to that.

- Grooves can get dirty, damaged, etc.

- Groove patterns typically remove contact area from the center. This can make the putter feel a little dull.

The Void insert uses elasticity to add some “spring” further away from the center, preventing that dull sweet spot. It also doesn’t collect dirt, sand, grass, grime, and there’s no grooves to damage.

It’s just one more option and a different way to get the job done. Everybody has their preferences! I think Void will find a place in a lot of bags out there.

Yup nothing new just different approach. Ping, Cleveland, LAB, Evnroll, Bobby Grace, etc all have something similar ish just in a different way. They also make more appealing looking heads.

I completely agree with the issues with grooves. I have seen the issues with chips in the grooves and face of putters in the past. Thanks for chiming in I'm a fan of putter tech. Starting to see what advancements in putters bring to the table with the last batch of winners on tour. Interesting to see results in real world.

I just received my Void Goliath finished in Olive Drab. The club is very well made. The sound of the ball off the club is muted and pleasant. The feel is similar as there is no discernible 'hit' sound yet he ball rolls out and on line. I will add, however, that as a start-up company they should focus more on customer service, as their communication was lacking regarding the back-log in production and then slow shipping. Overall, happy with the purchase

I'd like to add to what Mr. Salty said.  Customer service will make or break a company, and in this case, it broke Void.

It's great to have smart people trying to build new products for the golf industry, but if your customer service team (or in this case, I think it's one person) is rude and condescending, I'll pass.  I asked some very simple questions about the putters and his replies made it sound like I was wasting his time. Very rude!

Good luck growing your company with a business model like that. You should anticipate a lot of questions if you're a new company and some things aren't as clear as they should be. I'll stick with Scotty and Envroll.

Ps ... hire a marketing person.  Two videos on YouTube and no influencers to test your product will kill you in this business.  Just Google, "The customer buyers journey" and you'll understand what I mean.

I know I'm late on this but it reminded me of my interaction with void a few months back. They came across my insta feed and it caught my eye as a putter junkie. I asked a pretty simple question, something about what the return policy was for the putter being they are asking for a premium price as an unknown brand and the response was extremely condescending and rude

That's not a great way to grow the business 🤔

I am a bit baffled by the responses about the customer service received from Void.  I have asked multiple questions, some simple some not  and have received fast replies to all my questions.  I have had two exchanges with one of the owners and he was more than willing to answer and explain any questions I had.  I am intrigued by the putter and am likely going to give it a try.  I will definitely post a lengthy review after I put it through the ringer.

Cheers,

Jeff
