Cleveland Wedge Grinds/Soles

Thoughts on what bounce/grind what be good to carry in Florida? I think the 50 setup is fine, but wondering if im missing anything with the other two. 

 

 

have a 50 Mid 10*, 54 Full 12*, 58 mid 10*

I think your wedges are fine. You’d maybe want a low bounce (6-8*) 58* for tight Bermuda lies near greens but it depends on how confident you are off tight lies as it is with your 10* of bounce

Your setup looks great to me. I'd be worried if all you had was low bounce.

I think your setup looks fine as well.  I think you'd be fine with Mid Bounce with all of them.  I have the mid in my 48*, 52* and 56* wedges in North Texas, and have no issues with tight lies when I have them.  They're all also bent 2* weak because I like the extra bounce on my 50*, 54*, and 58*.  The grinds still work well for with the extra bounce.

Where in Florida are you going?

I live in SW Florida. Wasn’t sure if the mid grind having the V sole would impact turf interaction on the 58* compared to a full sole.

not particularly, just seeing if there’s anything I am missing. I use both my 54 and 58 around the greens, only open the face with the 58 which is a mid sole grind. Use 58 out of the bunkers primarily. 50 I use only for full to partial wedge shots , partial to 3/4.

Good. I like your setup having lots of bounce on your SW then a club you can play from an open position if needed.

So the mid 58 with 10* bounce is fine to open the face up? Also had considered going with the new TM wedges or Vokeys but I do like the Cleveland’s.

Yeah. It gas quite. Bit of heel and trailing edge relief so good off tighter lies and firmer bunkers.

It should be fine - also you can get the custom option of "tour grind" to better tune it if you want to, to get more heel and back side release

Really depends on what you play on most of the time.

 

Heavy rough will be better with a bit more bounce. But you can get on well maintained courses with shaved edges around the greens that'll eat that higher bounce alive...Basically bounce the leading edge into the ball. 

 

Tightly mown, lower bounce.

Heavy rough, more bounce 

 

I go 54-10 and don't really have issues. But I had to have a 60-10 and 60-08 and swap them.based on conditions until I found the 58-08 bent to 60 was the best of both.
