driver hits great irons not

One possibility is angle of attack; if you’re hitting up on a ball that is sitting on a tee, that’s going to work, but if you have a positive AOA with irons, you’ll get all kinds of misses, especially thin shots.  Another possibility is a swing plane issue that causes you to early extend; again, you can get away with that off a tee, but get two-way misses off the ground.

The best solution to this is to get to a good teaching pro for a lesson asap.  They see this exact problem ALL THE TIME, and eyes on YOUR swing is the only sure way to know.

why success at driving the ball but struggle with irons ?

As you know, the driver set up and Iron set up are very different. When you say struggle, what exactly are you struggling with?

I have made the drive my best club in the bag by finding a set up that lets me hit the ball very consistently. Like you, my iron set up is not as dialed but pretty close. I'm a firm believer that the set up is 90% of your shot provided your mechanics are some what sound. Good Luck!

Anytime that you are hitting a ball ON THE GROUND the low point of your swing must be in front of the ball. This requires a relatively  large negative angle of attack  with wedges and short irons and a smaller  negative angle of attack with fairway woods on the ground.
With a ball on a tee the low point of your swing

can be behind , at or in front of the ball.
Many pros have a slight negative angle of attack with a driver ; on the other hand Rory has a large positive angle of attack with a driver and long drive competitors have an even larger positive angle  of attack. While there are advantages to having a large positive angle of attack , there are also some problems , so it prudent for most golfers NOT to exceed  a +3.5 positive angle of attack with a driver
Golfers can alter their swing to change their low point , weight distribution and angle of attack. However , it is easier for most golfers to change these factors  via SETUP changes as “isitour” mentioned

To move your low point more in front of the ball with irons try the following  simple setup alterations

1.play the ball slightly farther back in your stance . This is in contrast with a driver where the tee is just off your lead heel

2. place more weight on your lead foot with up to 60% of your weight on your lead foot with wedges and C short irons . With a driver weight should  favor your trail foot by 55%/ 45%

3. preset some forward shaft lean via placing your hands just inside your front inner thigh . The position of your hands should be closer to even with the clubhead when hitting a driver.
4. Your stance with wedges and short irons should be more narrow than your stance with a driver . With wedges and short irons your feet should be vertically under your hip joints . As the clubs become longer , widen your stance via moving  your trail foot away from the front foot . This will create more of an”A” frame look and will place more weight towards your trail foot

Your swing faults matchup up better with a driver.  One possibility is you drop your rear shoulder too much.  That can work ok with driver, but irons are nasty.

Fix your swing issue.

All "tips" are welcome. Instruction not desired.

how to stop sweeping with irons ?

“Sweeping” is a result, not a problem, in the same way that taking a divot in front of the ball with irons is a result.  So you’re back to the same advice; get some instruction from a good teaching pro and find out what’s going on.  As long as you’re focused on effects instead of causes, you’re going to be frustrated.

Hitting a driver ok off a tee, while struggling to make good contact with irons off the ground is NOT an uncommon problem at all, and a good teaching pro is likely to be able to diagnose your issue(s) pretty quickly.  Then it becomes a matter of you putting in the work.
