A Strange Flight I See At Times From Bridgestone Tour BX

Hello Everyone

 

Ive been playing Bridgestone Tour BX recently, and im noticing a couple of things about the ball. But it might just be me going crazy.

 

1) Ball seems more prone to the flier, which would indicate perhaps the spin level is too low for me.

 

2) This is the big one: when im playing, ill set up sometimes for a fade and notice this, but i DEFINITELY notice this at times on draw biased shots. The ball takes off and starts to draw back a little.....but it doesnt....it reaches the top of its flight and almost straightens out, and then drops down straight.

 

So if you can imagine, itll take off right and fly to its apex, and then rather than drawing and falling left, itll just fall down straight on the push side of the target.

 

These seem to indicate too little spin, but wondered your thoughts?

 

I like the feel of the ball a lot, but feel pro v1x might be the better option to use again.

I also had some inconsistencies with some Bridgestone balls, and ended up switching to another ball. I would see ball flight issues, and manufacturing errors.

You've hit the infamous knuckle fade.

 

I stopped playing the BX and went to the BXS (again) because I needed the spin.

I have played a bunch of rounds (couple hundred?) with earlier versions of the B330 and a year or so ago I played for a few months with Tour BX. Never seen any ball flight that was different from any other ball. I certainly hit some squirrelly shots from time to time but no more or less of them with a Tour BX than with a Pro V1x or any other ball.

you're not going crazy, I've seen the same things with my ball flight but mostly with the driver, just figured it wasn't spinning enough and moved on to prov1x or z star diamond, never seen that issue again.

The only knock I've ever seen against Bridgestone is inconsistency in production standards ... basically what you're seeing. A main reason I moved to Maxfli Tour ... I don't think the ball performs quite as well (close), but from everything I've read, the balls are amazingly consistent from a production standpoint.
