Time for a new work car.

I haven't read the thread so maybe it's been mentioned... but have you considered a Panamera? It has a big hatch and the seats fold down pretty flat. It's fun to drive, very reliable, and will get you north of 20 mpg, even in the 500+ hp turbo model. They're surprisingly cheap for what they are and hold up very well. Mine has 93k miles on it now (bought with 40k) and the repairs it has needed were very basic stuff... control arm bushings and door lock actuators. Gets 27 mpg on the highway and mine has a tune getting it up to 590 hp. I keep thinking about replacing it before it hits 100k but there's nothing out there better for the money (to me, anyway).

Also... you can get a Panamera with a stick shift in the v6, and the interiors hold up VERY well.

I haven't seen a budget mentioned but you can get one for under $20k in very good condition.

I have actually considered a panamera for my weekend, going someplace other than work car. I'm a fan of large 4 door cars, I have also heard the exact same things from a few people I know that own them, said they have been one of the best cars they ever owned.

This is your car, my friend. Checks all the boxes except "European" and "RWD" and (I assume) "stylish," but man, easy to work on and you can pick them up for pennies...

If you're local to SW Florida you're welcome to drive mine. (Panamera Turbo)

Oh and even if you didn't get the stick, the PDK is no slouch but not as good as in later years/models.

Those were solely made for old people to flat tow behind their RVs. My car dealer friend would buy and sell 6 to 8 of those every month. I liked Saturn's, they were a great economical car that we didn't know we needed at the time.
