Put my triple diamond on my red 6s today.  Feel like it works well for me.  Not too spinny.  I put the heavy weight in the front so it’s pretty low spin.

I left mine as 2g in front and then got a 7g in the back but then added 3.5g lead tape on the back toe and heel.

No regrets whatsoever.  TD is fade biased, high ball speeds, lower launch and spin which is what I was initially looking for.  What sold me was that it retains spin on toe misses so the hard left knuckler is virtually gone for me.  MAX is higher launch and closer to neutral maybe even slightly draw biased which wasn't what I wanted.  However, the forgiveness of the MAX is crazy good.

I received my TD today and am super excited to hit it this weekend. I preferred the look of the TD over the max and was a fan of the Paradym TD. First time gaming a Ventus TR red but testing it the shaft was a great fit for my needs. IMG_5306.jpeg.114c5a51cca4509229302b5caba34d33.jpegIMG_5308.jpeg.e8764a22f80bcde27b893d60c70b6804.jpeg

I'm tearing my hair out over this decision. 4WMax(HL) and 7WTD, or 3WTD and 5WTD, or 3WTD and 7WTD? I have a preference for the TDs across the board because I hate the looks of the chevron. However, I was ready to accept it and go with the MAXHL for obvious reasons, until I took another look at the 3WTD (I just hate marrying a club that's not my type). I'm also thinking Red TR7S in the 3W/4W and the same for the 5W/7W (or maybe a 7X... ).  I also have a Ventus Blue laying around (6S)... what should I do with this? I'm not a high swing speed beast... but I hit it on the face....

Where on the clubface is your typical miss? If you miss toe side - go with the max. Heel side miss - TD.

There are so many AI Smoke threads but this felt like the most appropriate place to put some feedback.

Picked up my 9° TD with Denali Black 70X yesterday and went straight into a comp. Sadly I didn't realise that it was a foursomes event! I only got to hit the TD three times.

I'm coming from a Rogue Sub Zero with my priority being additional forgiveness, less balls in the trees off the tee and generally straighter if possible.

There were two shots that made me feel like I've made a good decision. The first of the day with the TD on the 4th was a bad swing and strike with me leaving the club open and hitting the ball out of the heel. Immediately I knew I'd made a mistake and that the ball was going to slice into the trees and be lost. I've played this hole so many times trying to overcome this mental block causing me to play that shot and I guess a new driver is not going to do that. I watched in horror as the ball started out right knowing what was going to happen. Then I watched in fascination as the slice never came, the ball just held its line and despite the poor strike I got 258 carry and a clear line into the green from the rough. That shot alone makes this driver worth it for me, that's my miss and normally results in a reload but in this case it was a very acceptable drive which is a massive turnaround.

The second drive was on 14, I gave it an almighty swing and caught it out the middle and knew right away it was going to be good. I had aimed for a small draw as going right is fairly safe. The draw didn't come, it was a mid flight straight shot that looked massive. Indeed it was huge, 288 carry with the ball landing and bouncing back out of its plug mark. Sadly it's still very wet in the UK so the ball plugs everywhere, you can see the plug mark in front of the ball.

288 carry is truly fantastic, I was thrilled to bits that I can smash the ball as far as that with control in terms of direction. However it's the 258 that held its line from the poor strike that really made me feel great. 258 carry from a poor strike and not losing the ball is a massive game changer for me. Fills me with confidence to be able to play driver more often and hopefully bring my handicap down.

I never expected the TD to be the club I ended up with when I asked the fitter for more forgiveness. I went wanting the G430 Max 10K to be that club, I was willing to accept a little loss in distance in return for forgiveness. Instead I seem to have lucked out with more distance and forgiveness from this unicorn of a club. Hopefully this continues! Screenshot_20240420_173350_ShotScope.jpg.2916a60668f66125ab0a129a613a4356.jpg
