Good numbers all round, but I've been waiting on the "Epic LS max" lineage to come around again so I'm going Max on this one. 
I love the consistency with the weigh slot behind the Toe line.

The AI Smoke Max is the de facto replacement for the MAX LS models (like the paradym standard tour model before it). As you can add weight to the front port and lessen the rear - dropping the spin.

in theory should have more controllable spin than the MAX LS versions right? I haven't hit may gamer in 2 months but I remember last year I could get some balls that just hook out of the sky or didn't launch high enough and just fall out. Likely a delivery and playing the wrong loft in driver so its more on me 😛

you'd need to buy second hand weights. Billy Bob's usually has them. It won't be like the TD where the same weight could work front and back,.

They are the same weights as a few of the prior gen drivers as well.  Though, they won't be blue.

So I know it’s not the right thread for this but I guess heavy weight in the front = less spin/lower launch and heavy in the back higher spin/higher launch?

I received my TD today and am super excited to hit it this weekend. I preferred the look of the TD over the max and was a fan of the Paradym TD. First time gaming a Ventus TR red but testing it the shaft was a great fit for my needs.

Looking at these to replace my TSi3. I’ve  watched a lot of videos (Finch and some others) comparing the TD and Max and there doesn’t seem like a huge spin difference.  Anyone think there will be a major real world difference? 
 

My TSi3 is set to 6.5* because I spin it like crazy. I plan on getting fit but am just curious. I could use the max forgiveness but not if it launches to the moon and balloons. The look of the TD is much nicer to my eye though.

Tested TD vs Max tonight, and was surprised to see the Max was considerably better in speed. Tested on gamer shaft.

Interesting. Smoke MAX is doing really well in these comparisons. Seems to be just a little higher spin, not a lot, with great ball speeds.

Have you tried a sliding weight from a Paradym in the Ai head and it does fit?

Any more feedback on the Ventus TR Red? Was fit into that shaft recently and debating pulling the trigger. Liked it a lot with the Max head, but surprised myself by getting even better performance with the Max D. The ease of turning over the Max D actually let me get another couple mph in swing speed by just going after it more since the head made everything else so much easier.

Just for reference, here is my triple diamond head with the plastic on:

Thinking of shortening the shaft to 45 and change the 14 gram weight to an 18 gram weight.

I was doing some 

I found a bunch of success with Ventus TR Red (W/Velocore) in last years TD head.  It wasn't my favorite from a feel perspective, but the results were great.  It did for me, what the marketing suggests.  High launch, lowish spin.   Paired with the right loft can be a weapon.

Ok, thanks. I am looking to get a heavier rear sliding weight for an Ai Max. I guess I'll stick with lead tape for now until I can verify a fit.

I was doing some 

I was fit into Ventus TR Red as well over the summer and used the standard Paradym head (interestingly in a 10.5* set +1*) and made the switch to the AI Smoke Max in the same shaft and loft.  Definitely a great shaft and you'll see (at least I did) tight dispersion.  Two rounds with it so far and definitely hitting more fairways.

What kinda swing speed do you have, I’m just around 100-103, I’m about to put the ventus Red 6s velecore in the AI 3d, currently have it in the epic speed.  I like it a lot, felt like I might should’ve gone TR but I’m pretty happy where I am

I live in the 105 zone with a very quick transition.  I much preferred TR Red to OG Red bc it felt more stable, stiffer with less deflection during the swing.  If I went after one with OG Red it would go left.  Did not have that problem with TR Red.

Gotcha, I hit the blue 6s the other day and it felt pretty good also.  And you are going CTX now right?  I like the CT haven’t tried the X yet

Guys playing the 3d smoke, where are you finding best results with the weights.  Is it too hard to hit with the heavy weight in the front?  I’m reading it’s more forgiving in the back.  I know some have ordered different weights, what are y’all finding works best

Any of you players with faster SS (+110) getting fit into the Max instead of the TD?

 

Seems a lot of reviews coming in has the Max only launching slightly higher with comparable spin. Seems like the Max would be the winner, just for the added forgiveness, even if the TD had a few occasional drives that were longer.

I live at 100-102 and have the TR red 6S. You’ll enjoy it.

Put my triple diamond on my red 6s today.  Feel like it works well for me.  Not too spinny.  I put the heavy weight in the front so it’s pretty low spin.
