Debating waiting on this or just pulling the trigger on the v6 shift. Not sure all the bells and whistles are worth it for the average Joe.

I'm assuming it's pulling local weather info from your phone to determine wind & temperature?

Buddy of mine just got his. FYI, the stock weather app on iPhone must be set to always use location services in order for the Bushnell App to transmit wind data to the range finder.

I bought the X3+ to replace my V3 slope. Unfortunately, I will returning it.  I found that attaching it to the cart between shots via the bite magnet caused issues with the internal compass requiring it to be manually recalibrated every time you want to shoot something if you want the wind information to display.  Recalibrating requires it to be spun and rotated in figures eights.  I plan on going with the Tour V6 Shift.

Did you contact Bushnell and get a response? I thought it used your phone for the compass? I’m really curious because mine just got delivered today.

I reached out to Bushnell on Friday but their call queue was full.  I will try again Monday however, as noted above per the manual it states the magnet will require frequent calibration.  I plan on returning it as I'm sure they will tell me exactly what the manual states. I agree, bad engineering.

My buddy stuck his to his fridge for 30 min and his microwave for another 30min. No issues.

I took mine out yesterday. I was having to do figure 8’s with it for a couple seconds almost every time I used it.

Spoke to my buddy who’s on a golf trip.  Same issues.  If he attaches it to the cart via the magnet he needs to recalibrate the digital compass every time if he wants to gain access to the wind info.  If he doesn’t the range finder pulses continuously.  No problems if he puts the range finder back in the case.

Is there any way to stop it from pulsing if you use the magnet by turning off the wind feature?  Sounds annoying if you can't.  I can buy it for 15% off through Golf Galaxy right now which is almost the same price as the old X3 on sale.  Can put it in my bag which has the pouch for the rangefinder if I want wind but prefer to use the magnet on the cart even without wind if it doesn't pulse all the time.  If not, I'll look for an X3 on discount.

Bought yesterday morning on the way up to the course and happened to be riding and using the BITE magnetic back to stick to cart

What a frustrating feature

If I knew the wind functionality required having the app open I likely wouldn’t have purchased and instead just picked up an x3

 

When it worked, displaying the wind speed and direction was neat to see  - but I kept having to quit the app and reopen thinking that was what required for getting the wind value to display when it stopped working 

 

happened to be an incredibly windy day on the course so I was hoping it would be a good feature to have 

 

for some reason I also assumed the wind value would be factored into the compensation number like the slope adjusted number - maybe that’s illegal? Haha

Do you know if you’re able to disable the wind feature so it’s not vibrating telling you to recalibrate?

I wonder if this is still an issue with the X3+?  I am leaning away from it and just getting the X3

Good question - I’ll see if it can be disabled next time I’m out
