New project X denali shaft....

So I saw on WRX news that there are some Denali hybrid shafts on the way. The hybrid is literally the last one I need to work on.

Is there anymore feedback on these shafts? I’m not finding a lot of reviews and feedback out there.
 

The Black looks like it launches and spins a bit more than a traditional black shaft (?). 

 

Is the Blue closer to Ventus Blue or TR Blue?

I've been curious of the same thing, but I just figure they haven't been out long enough for people's opinions to pass around the web enough given to limited numbers of people likely having tried it relative to the whole.

 

TT Advertises it for a "Moderate Tempo" which generally means it'll only be low launching for folks who fit that general profile. Someone with a more rhythmic takeaway and transition will like it more. Someone in that category that swings 106+ is likely going to want a TX unless their launch conditions are already optimal at X.

Someone who swings more like Collin Morikawa will be more likely to approve of the Denali; whereas someone that swings more like Rory McIlroy likely will not.

I swing aggressively (as the fitter said a few minutes ago) at 100 mph and the 6.0 Black felt very nice in the Smoke TD during impromptu Callaway fitting at PGA SS. I really like how it did not kick much and felt very stable. If I want Callaway this is the setup I would get. 14 launch 2300 spin and carry of 245.

I figure I have to try it eventually; probably for the 3-Wood. Although, I'm holding out more to give it a shot in the hybrid when they release that shaft.

I know the old Smoke Yellow was the same. Without asking TT, I wonder if they just couldn't keep the profile stable below what they consider a 6.0.

I don’t think the profile works below 6.0 flex. Maybe try a 6.0 blue tipped

You could just play the 6.0 and make the head weight heavier to make it feel more soft

Anybody know how the RDX Blue 6.0 would compare to the Black 6.0?

Totally different profile and feel. Black on paper is smooth and linear. Rdx blue is super tip and butt stiff with a very soft middle so you will feel some kick and it is counterbalanced.

Picked up a cheap Denali  Black 6.0 to try out. Weird as as the  6.0 is listed as 65G on the website but 60G on the shaft.

Very common. It's just considered a "weight class." Pretty much a universal means of identifying them. Most are stepped in 10g weight classes. Be it 65-75-85 or 60-70-80 none of them are generally gonna be exactly 60, 70 or 80g.

Considering that it is the uncut weight, when you cut a shaft down it's gonna lose some weight. So putting an 82 on the Hzrdus Black 80/6.5X wouldn't be true anymore once it's cut down, but the weight class is still relevant.

One could argue different ways, but it seems like that is probably the only thing about shaft specifications that actually is reasonably standard across all brands. LOL
