Players walking ahead to look at the hole

For those whose head is exploding over this. Back in the day it was legal to walk to see what was ahead but you could not ride a cart to do so. So at the club level they SLOWED DOWN the player to allow it.

There is no rule to disallow walking ahead as long as you do not slow down play. On tour it’s not easy to get a group way out of position.

I'm glad they don't have beverage carts on Tour ... That's what gets groups way out of position at my course ... Nothing worse than 5 half-tanked middle-aged men on a hot day approached by a comely lass driving around a cart filled with over-priced alcohol.

If you want to know the exact pin location on a green, go out before your round and look at it then.
