Keith Mitchell - WITB - 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge

What is it about the TS2 Titleist 7 wood? It seems to have taken over the 915f version. They both look good.

Also, always amazes me that a Vokey shows up at some point regardless of sponsor brand.

Yup - Mitchell, cantlay and Cam Smith all still rocking the TS2 7 wood. Wonder what keeps it in the bag over the newer models?

I really believe its 2x things now.

1. All the success we are seeing with Vokey players.

2. The grind they want is made and not ground.

Grinding, no matter how good you are, is never the exact same.  These guys are so anal and we have heard the stories. Like Phil having 5x wedges ground all day and he says no to all of them for being off a point of a gram.

IMO anyways. This is what I believe. They can order the Vokey over and over and its exact.

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
-  Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

-  Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

Golf is what you make of it.  Play grateful and accepting. We are all lucky to have it.

Rather than expecting lets all try and appreciate instead.
Treat people the way you want to be treated

While may be true with regards to not being exact, 99.8% (may be a higher %) of the players aren't ordering a grind and then not having some extra work done on it my Aaron Dill.

His 60T doesn't look like it has any extra grinding..

Always appreciate these photos - Maybe I'm reading into things too much, but there are so many interesting stories with this bag, and as always, I would love more context...especially given the fact that there are so few Mizuno staffers on Tour and we don't always get to see what Tour pros are preferring/not preferring in the Mizuno lineup relative to other OEMs.

Are the Mizzy R&D guys banging their heads into the wall over the fact that they continue to improve their fairways with each new release, and yet Keith says, nah?

Has anyone told him that 245 is "supposed" to be a significant improvement over 225?

Keith liked the new T24 in the PW, but prefers the T22 elsewhere?

He definitely comes across as someone who's skeptical of/very slow to make changes, but I'd love to hear from his own mouth if there's more to it than just that.

To your point he seems very particular in his equipment.   He has a special model blade made for him and has additional sole grinds on those irons.  He’s also talked in depth about the hot melt process to get the cg right on drivers to suit his preferred shot shape.

In summary, he’s one of us 😂
