His point on his latest YouTube CB video was accurate.   They haven’t come out with a new CB in 5 years now so this Fall and based on previous launches times up.   Enough of this fly under the radar voodoo stuff.   The T Line is what it is but it’s time.  Titleist let’s cut to the chase here.   Yes, they most certainly CAN improve on what they have now.  Let’s go.

I like the CBs, but I just don’t see the reason for them over the T100

They (cb) significantly less with higher speed and steeper players.  It was tough me to get t100 under 7500-8000 on stock shots. Cb and mb both could be kept under 7k.  Same shaft, same ball. Neutral path and face, 3.5-5 down AoA, 97mph swing speed.

the t100 did offer more protection on less than perfect strikes.

I can see that for sure. The T100 is a bit spinny, which could be helped with a shaft, but I also like the CBs. I think these all come down to hitting them and seeing which works best you in the long run. My buddy has had the 716 CBs for a long time, and still loves them. I’ve hit them a few time with great results. Also tends to feel more like a true forged iron as well.

Agreed.

and if your are a lower spin guy (Jordan Speith) the t100 are a great fit.

0% chance this is true

Curious what they come out with - I agree that the T100 is prob pretty close in performance, but that’s not to say they wouldn’t still release a true CB (given it’s been a couple years).

Yeah, I tried the CB’s and they spun significantly more than T100. I deliver a bit too much dynamic loft and launch the ball high as a result and I couldn’t keep the spin down at stock lofts.

Are the 620’s better than the 718’s?

There was a bunch of great blades that got released back when 718 was the current model. Callaway 18 apex mb, TM 730 mb, blueprints, and the mizuno blade. I tested them all and went with the 730’s but I’ve always really liked the look of titleist blades. The 718’s didn’t quite live up to it at address and I can’t remember why. Saying that the 620’s look great on the other hand.

edit-I just realized you were talking about the cb so disregard the mb talk but it’s still helpful I suppose

In what theoretical scenario does an iron with less loft and a lower cg produce more spin with all other variables being equal?

Theoretically, none.

Practically: Clubs tested could have been out of spec. Not uncommon even for fairly new clubs to be at the wrong loft.

Add in some user influence and you can end up with unexpected results.

I always have lofts normalized.  34 degree 7 iron.

go check out cool clubs review.  They do robot testing at 90 mph.  The t100 (34 degrees) has a higher stopping power and spin launch rating than than 620 cb (35 degrees) while have a degree stronger loft.  Stronger loft, more spin, all other variables being equal (about as close as we can reasonable get)

Hmmm…due to age and accompanying infirmity I’ll be switching to GI or “players distance” next year.  Will be interesting to see what Titleist comes up with by then.  For whatever reason though, the current T-series just feel icky to me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

You’re asking the wrong person. But when it comes to golf and the random ways people swing clubs. I never speak in absolutes.

I provide the reference to the site.  A company call cool clubs does club testing with a robot and posts the results.  Feel free to look it up.

A "spin launch" rating of 272 means absolutely nothing. The 620cb has a higher rating at 340 too.

Y'all... This isn't hard:

Cool clubs cb testing:  Cb

T100 testing:  T100

Cb appears to have slightly lower spin launch.   Said the t100 and 150 has the same spin launch.  I'm not sure how they calculate.  They didn't provide actual spin rates.
