Whiteboard 73 vs 757 Speeder

How hard is the WB to turn over
I can draw my TP V1 with 757 Speeder but want something a little lighter and looking at a WB73, XCON 6 and 6Z08. Don't want any more spin and launch is high enough already if need be. I like that i can turn the 757 over and draw it ok and am wondering if the WB would still allow me to do this.

The 757 is more like the blue board. You will find it a bit more difficult to turn the whiteboard over. The WB is meant to keep from going left on players because of the stiff tip and mid section. The 757 and BB both have stiff tips but flex more in the middle. Also, if you want something lighter the BB 73 isn't that much of a difference in weight compared to the 757.

I can't say it any better than it was said above.

WB and 757 are about as different as you can get. BB has a little tighter dispersion than the 757, but they are very similar shafts.

The WB is a "man's" shaft...I don't say that because anyone who doesn't use it is a whimp. I play a Tour 73s BB tipped 1 inch and I have a 113mph swing speed.

The Whiteboard is for 2 things, lowering launch angle and lowering backspin.

If you don't have enough backspin the ball won't carry at all and if your launch angle is too low it really won't go anywhere.

Whiteboard is for specific players and swings, make sure your's fits the specs or it won't help you at all. It is very difficult to turnover...very difficult.

Clubs that reduce spin are harder to turn over (i.e. play a draw)

Hooking the ball isn't turning it over...

The Blueboard is most like the 757.

So, with the same logic, are the same shafts harder to fade? I always hear people talk about how too stiff of a shaft promotes a fade or slice. However, AFAIK the amount of spin on the ball doesn't influence whether the ball ball draws or fades - the axis of the spin does. Granted the amount of spin does influence how much the ball draws or fades.

What is the definition of "turning it over?"

I don't understand the posts about different shafts being hard to turn over. I've played 757 X and BB 73 X and I can still hook the snot out of it if I put a bad swing on it. A closed club face is a closed club face...

I'm not talking about a rampaging hook, i am talking of a controlled draw. Different shaft profiles do indeed make a big difference. I thought the WB might be hard to turn accurately comparatively and looks like i was right. As to your question of stiff tips and fades, a slicer will very likely struggle with a WB style shaft.

Looks like the BB73 is a great call, i actually have one in an XL and it's quite decent. Thanks guys.

You are welcome, I have a 73s tour Blueboard that is in my Nike SQ, I also had it PURE'd...which will definitely make it more consistent.

Hi all! I have just snapped my Bridgestone J33R 460 in half, It had a 757 x flex in it, tipped an inch. I hit it a long way, my numbers on that driver were 12.5 degrees launch, +- 2600 rpm spin, about 115 MPH clubhead speed and 174 MPH ball speed. Now that I have to replace the shaft I am wondering if there is a shaft that would give me a similar feel and performance with as the 757 but with maybe a touch more control?? any suggestions ??

After playing a few rounds with a 73X whiteboard in a Sumo 5000, I do not find it at all difficult to maneuver from right to left. However, I am having a very difficult time getting it to fade, and find it near impossible to hit a hard slice. This is probably due to the inertia of the head, but I had heard this shaft was anti left and easy to lose right. At any rate I am gaining more confidence with it. One thing I will say about the whiteboard is that I can really go after it if I want and the shaft will hang on.

So what would be a good shaft for someone who's misses are slices??

One with an active tip. How do you find your 6Z08?

Down the track i have a TBTP with a real WB73 and it is gorgeous. Very accurate and good swings have a little draw while fades don't get away from me.

The WB 73 is longer than the 757 in X Flex. I tend to think it's because the whiteboard loads more efficently more higer swing speeds

But it terms of dispersion both very similar, the whiteboard is lower spining than the 757

The speeder 757 would stil make my top ten shafts.

Both the speeder 757 and the whiteboard are suited to better players < 5 handicap

totally agree ,

BTW there's no way a WB 73 is tougher than the 757 speeder, The 83 WB is sightly tougher.
