Recommended Posts

Chris, got any pictures of a certain Fixer with a special neck?

Got any pics of a rainbow torch MA2 with a custom triangle site dot. I'm eagerly awaiting!!!

Got any pics of any...let's say...melted lefty M10s with a tig-welded Square Cut plumber neck?

Just curious. :D

Now that is a custom request!!!! But with Machine....anything is possible and Dave will meticulously make it right! I'd love to see a Tig Welded Center Shaft M10 with a custom closer weight....wub.gifbiggrin.gifpartytime2.gif

I love the simple lines of a center shaft anser style head, and your tig welded hosels are insane! I love the simplicity, and insane finishes coupled with contrasting medallions are works of art! How much would something like that in an adjustable head cost? I think your milling work is incredible too! I can't wait for the day I can afford one of these, so I can thow out my other putters! All other putters don't even compare to these! Have you guys ever heard of or possibly done any sound slot cuts thru the blade, starting at the bottom and going thru the topline? I'm really curious as to what that.would feel like?! Thank you for making an awesome flat stick!

Very seldom do I score on one of the Ebay "super deals" that I am always seeing and hearing, but last Sunday I got a break. I picked this up off Ebay from Clubfinders. It needs a little TLC, but I think DB will be able to take care of that for me.

Always wanted one of these!

I have to laugh at Machine putters. I eMailed them a number of times last year to arrange a demo that I would travel to and nothing. Not one reply, zero. Machine is a marketing ploy to wrangle money from golfers, while building garage slab metal. I make this statement based on zero contact from them and numerous eMail and a couple phone calls.

Machine is an internet ploy selling putter jewelry. Who else has had my experience.

"I have never used a Machine putter in real life. Yet, I can say with 100% confidence that their putters are terrible."

C'mon dude, you even show how baseless your claims are immediately after trashing their putters. It's too bad you're experience, or lack thereof, was bad. However, it says zero about the quality of their products. For all we know your email address is [email protected] and it just got stuck in their spam filter.

I've had delays with communication, but just like other boutique putter makers, they're a small operation. Considering how often this thread is on the front page, if you really wanted to get in touch with someone for a fitting, you could have.

Machine is top notch. They are very busy and I don't know why they wouldn't get back to you. I promise you it is a good reason. I have 6 machines and more on the way. If you get one you will love it. I am sorry for your experience but that is not the norm. Dave and Chris work very hard and me personally push hard on my putters but they always are very responsive and put up with my stuff. Hopefully you understand.

You outbid me Mark. LOL Great Pickup :) That was a steal as the seller didn't know it was Damascus and listed it as Carbon. LOL

We can defintitely fix that up for you and perhaps even add the Modular Center Shaft you like so much :)
Man! I lost out on that one too, I wanted to make it a center shaft too. . . I saw that and was hoping I was the only one but I knew someone on here would find it. Congrats man it looks better than I'n the listings pics. I couldn't be more jealous.

Thanks for making my point along with Thaddy above, porn and shopping are strong internet businesses.

Who needs 6 putters and more on the way... one good putter will suffice for most golfers, I suggest if more are on the way there are other issues involved here.
.
My points were no contact, no opportunity to demo and now Machine cheerleaders come out and defend their putter supplier... these are sure signs of internet hype people.

I wish you could read this from a different point of view and realize how childish and pathetic you sound.

You asked...

Machine is an internet ploy selling putter jewelry. Who else has had my experience.

...to which you received not one supporting reply. Meanwhile, this thread at 126 pages (!) full of enthusiastic, satisfied customers.

Why not shoot them a new PM or pick up the phone and call instead of trashing them? Clearly, many people have communicated with them quite effectively and received desirable results. If you can't take the simple step to try contacting them again to let them remedy an unintentional mistake then...well...it's not them, it's you. black%20eye.gif

I agree with you, if I were interested today I would attempt to contact them...

It didn't happen earlier, I have added my two cents to relate my experience for the next person and now enough said.

@rbsanitation,

If this is how you felt from the get go, why let loose with the comment above? I'm sure it wasn't their intentions to deliberately ignore an email, perhaps it was sent to a spam folder? If you give Machine a chance, I'm sure you will have a different perception. You are a relatively new member, but this thread has one of the longest and biggest followings on this site from fans and happy customers. I don't know too many craftsmen in the industry, like Dave, that take the time out of their busy schedules to come onto the forums and interact with fans and customers. Dave and Chris are some of the best, if not the best, in the industry with communication and attention to detail. I think you may have jumped to conclusions. If you reconsider your interest, I am sure you won't be disappointed. friends.gif

Thanks for all the great comments guys :)

rbsanitation - I just spent the last 40 minutes going thru my inbox here and my e-mail inbox and not seeing a PM or contact from you. If I had one, I would have responded as almost everyone here will attest. Sometimes e-mails do get trapped in the spam filters, as one member on here can attest we can only communicate via PM, but if you shoot me a PM, or shoot me an E-Mail to [email protected] you will get a response. I'm probably one of the easiest people to contact on this site :) Sorry about your experience. If you choose to reconsider in the future, please feel free to contact me via PM, or my e-mail address in my signature :)

Thanks

-Chris

First, thanks for all the support from customers and friends! It means a lot to Chris, me, and the rest of our team.

rbsanitation: I am very sorry if you did not receive a reply or call back. We try to answer all emails, PM's and Voice Mails as quickly as possible, and usually within 24 hours to 48 hours (if over a weekend for instance). As most of our customers know, Chris and Libby are usually much faster than that! :)

I don't know what could have happened to your attempts to contact us, but it is certainly not the norm. We do take all inquiries with respect and appreciation, and I am sorry if we did not respond to you appropriately or in a timely manner, if in fact your attempts were made and did get through to us. If you are still interested, please resend your email to [email protected]. I will personally see that it is answered.

However, I am also concerned about your statements denigrating our company, and also your negative interaction with other members here, which I believe is inappropriate as it appears to cross the line to personal attacks, which is against forum rules.

I would also like to personally refute some of your statements, for the record. Our company and business is no "ploy" by any means! I founded Dogleg Right in 1994, and we have shipped our products to very significant numbers of happy customers in all 50 states and 36 foreign countries. We have sold our products in the finest golf stores and country clubs in the world, and also directly to many many happy customers. The number of customers that have come back to purchase more than one putter from us is a testament, I believe, to their satisfaction with their earlier purchases and experiences.

Also, our putters are not just "garage slab metal" (whatever that is), nor just "jewelry". We manufacture our products with exceptional engineering, care, quality and precision. They are serious, high performance pieces of equipment. Do I try to make them beautiful too? Yes, but I won't apologize for that.

Our putters have been used by over 170 Tour Pros, including over a dozen in the Hall of Fame (and many many future Hall of Fame Players). Players have won 11 tournaments on the major tours with our putters. We strive to take the levels of service and customization previously only available to those Tour players, and bring them to our customers here and around the world. Thanks again to all our loyal customers who are helping make this dream a reality!

Sincerely,

-Dave Billings

I do not think there is any member on this thread, or site for that matter, that needs to come to the defense of Dave, Chris, or any member of the Machine crew over their response, or lack of, to your inquiries. If the problem existed all you had to do was post in the thread that you were trying to contact them and I feel certain you would have gotten a response. Lord knows you did when you posted this time!

I do have to disagree with your take on the quality and legitimacy of Machine's product. I have several putters built by Dave and the guys at DLR (will not say how many, undoubtedly that is a precursor to mental illness) and every one is high quality and an outstanding performer.

I do believe that anyone that has the opportunity to try a Machine putter out will recognize the high standards to which the putter is crafted. I have known many that have tried them, and buy one or not, all seemed to agree that they are a top notch product. Heck, if you had posted on the thread when you were trying to demo one, I bet you money that if you shared home towns with a Machine owner, they would have met you at the practice green and let you get the feel for theirs. That's the way we roll!

Well, Weaver, your avatar is very similar to the design I was after starting November 2010 through Februaryish 2011. I obviously had something get crossed up on 3 or 4 eMails and 2 phone calls attempting to get a demo set up. I now use a Scotty Cameron 2.6 34" 2* flat adjustable weight putter that is serving me well, now I just need 12 SC headcovers, 11 pivot tools, 10 stickers and 9...... other SC things to fill my basement.

As to responding to a thread to acquire a product, that certainly didn't compute at the time, especially since I made numerous requests with specifics. I still have never seen or handled a Machine putter, I can only take the words produced here as fact. My comments were obviously a jab at the company as I considered them to be a ghost. I am a skeptic of the people running the business, although I certainly see many satisfied friends and am certain one of their friends might have given me a demo if convenient.

Again, what is strange is that is exactly what I was requesting at the time.

I just suggested posting in the thread to see if they were getting your messages. I know a couple of times where Chris said he had not gotten the message because it was filtered and he touched base with the customer through other means.

I hate that it happened the way it did, but I do not think any of it was intentional. I am just glad that you got something that works for you. If the Select ever lets you down let me know. I will let you give one of the welded center shafts a go. Mine are set up to the same spec.

Mark

rbsanitation: Chris and I have offered to try to help if you would simply resend your last email. Without that, I can't really respond to your claims of being ignored or mistreated, as we clearly don't even have a real name or email address to search for. As some others have posted, messaging us here is also a simple and effective way to get in touch (and around spam filters). You have both Chris and my screen names with which to use if you would prefer to PM us.

Regarding sending out Demos (which we get requests for from time to time), unfortunately we really can't meet these types of requests. We make our putters one at a time and custom to order, so we don't have "off the rack" product just sitting around here or on store shelves gathering dust and getting dinged up (as many of our competitors do) - as those who have made the trip to our factory can attest to!

I am sorry if our business model doesn't match with your requests (or apparently your approval), and I am sorry you think we are some type of ghost company or someone to be skeptical of. I am proud of our 18+ year history and track record. We have outlasted many, many competitors, and we are growing. We are very blessed to have the support of many happy customers who have found us and enjoy working with us to realize their custom putter dreams.

Our picture thread here is intended to be a place for us and our customers to share photos of MACHINE putters, and discuss the details with each other and our fans. Your continued unsubstantiated "jabs" at our company, managment and staff are unwarranted and frankly rude. If you would like to email or PM, please do, and I have promised to personally answer you.

Otherwise, you are always welcome and free to simply change the page and view some other threads!

Sincerely,

-Dave

Hey Everyone! How about some more pictures of some MACHINE Putters for the Picture Thread?! lol

Please see attached work in progress for a great repeat customer and friend.

This is a M10 Adjuster in Aluminum Bronze, with a Mokume Gane logo medallion and a Modular Center Shaft-Over hosel. This putter is still being hand finished, and will get an Antique Patina over the weekend, but, I think she is looking pretty good so far!

Hope you enjoy!

Thanks again for all the positive comments and support. :)

All the best,

-Dave
