My first "real" driver and "real" irons. I started playing some hand me down Citation blades and a bum driver....They almost made me quit the game before I really got started.....

Then I got a Adams Redline 460cc driver and a set of Mizuno T-Zoid Sure irons. It is then that I realized I could actually play "real" golf. Over and over they filled me with the fuzzy warm satisfaction of hitting high flying, on line golf shots. I have since upgraded several times, but those sticks gave me the most satisfaction.

My 2002 re-issue Titleist PT 15* bore-thru 3 wood with DGS300 shaft. I still play it and can hit it just as far and much straighter than any other 3 wood I've ever tried. The ball flight is perfect. Nice low draw normally but I can do anything I want with it: high cut, low cut, high draw, low draw, off fairway or tee. Perfect feel, perfect sound. Just money.

Callaway S2H2 3 wood. Best thing since sliced bread. I can't find a club I'm more consistent with.

How high do you hit that sucker? I hit the ball somewhat high, but not unbelivably high, and can't hit that club like I used to be able to.. I just sky-rocket everything with it..

In comparison, I use an 8.5* Sumo, and a 12.5* Titleist 975f..

I have a 13* and a 15* I just got reshafted with UST I.T. shafts (shafts from back in the day that I bought on closeout). With the 13*, don't hit the ball particularly high or or low. Just right with my swing in my opinion. I've never been able to sky rocket shots with this club off the turf; able to hit high balls off the tee. But, I've never been a high ball hitter with my woods while being a high ball hitter with my irons. Love the size, workability, and feel with this head. Even with other shafts, I can't say that the 13* is a high ball hitter. Haven't hit the 15* enough to give an opinion.

For reference, I've played the following and always had, personally, an ideal flight with all except a little lower than ideal with the 8.5* J33R 460:

9.5* J33R 460 w/UST I.T.

9.5* J33R 460 w/stock Aldila

9.5* J33R 460 w/Speeder 757, stock Aldila (I think)

10.5* J33R 460 w/Fujikura Tour Spec Vista Tour 80g (a little higher than I liked)

8.5 J33R 460 w/Speeder 757 TP Graphics (a little lower than I liked)

8.5* Taylor Made 510 Retail w/UST ProForce 65

Here are the clubs that have a sweet spot in my heart and mind when I play:

Driver: Superquad TP tour issue...just put an Ozik F6M2 in it, and this thing is insane. I am hitting it where I could never imagine.

Fairway Wood: TaylorMade R7 TP HFS, 13 and 17.5 with Fujikura 771TA. Killing my 3 wood around 250yds

Irons: The best forged irons ever, Epon Type J, with Project X flighted

Putter: Custom made Bettinardi, it was a wedding gift.

Ben Hogan Apex 50th Anniversary Irons . . . shafted with Nippon NS Pro 1050GH. Sweetest feeling, smoothest swinging, and best looking iron set I have ever owned or experienced. STOLEN.

Adams Redline Tour 400cc 10.5* ProLaunch Blue- the first driver I could hit consistently well. It had a square face, was big for it's time (460cc's were just about to be released), and it was before the whole "Tour" only hype machine rolled around and jacked up Adams prices . . . picked it up for under a $100 . . . the PLBlue was a brand new $80 shaft back then. STOLEN.

So sad . . . oh well, now I have an Adams XTD Pro 9.5* GD YSQ Stiff on the way (used the 35% Live Search Cashback on it). My MacGregor demo 7i with NSPro 1150 just arrived . . . so that might recapture my lost iron magic.

Wow. I can't believe I am the first to say that my TM R510TP was my most satisfying club. Where are all the ex-(or current-)510TP users?

Best feeling, sounding and looking driver I've ever hit. Sweet spot hits with that club were the most satisfying for me.

It's a hard one for me - the Cobra L4V F & X has been a totally unbelievable driver for me this year. It's SO LONG for my swing and a beast. Case in point, I've not played the Sepulveda Basin courses in a few years and when I hit it with my L4V the last couple of months, I am walking past my old driver drop areas - hello - and I keep walking. This driver is long and straight off the tee which means I am hitting shorter irons to the greens.

Couple to this time, I also picked up some Bobby Jones wedges: 52 and 56 - these clubs are great, feels great and stop. The face does not chew the balls. So a long ball off the tee plus an improve short game = dropping index and personal best scores. It's a tie, I'd have to say.

Driver: Taylormade Stealth 2+ 9*, Proxima 5X

Fairways: Callaway - Rogue ST LS 13.5* & Fujikura Red TR 5S // Callaway Diablo Edge Tour 15* & Miyazaki C Kua 43S

Hybrid:   Cobra Speedzone 3 hybrid 19*

Irons:       Ping i530 5-PW AWT 2.0 matte black shafts, JumboMax STR8 Ultralite grips
Wedges: Cleveland CBX2 48, Ben Hogan Equalizer 52*, Cleveland Full Face 56*, KBS TGI 100 shafts
Putter:     LAB Golf Mezz.1 ACCRA shaft / Directed Force Reno "2.05 Presse IV tweaked" Putter with OG BGT Stability shaft
Srixon XV 5/6 or Vice Pro Plus. JumboMax STR8 Ultralite grips

I've got an old Taylor Made Flex Twist Tour Spoon that was in the bag for about 13 years. I could do it all with that club. I could hit a flat draw from the tee that went just about as far as a driver, or a feathery cut into a par 5 that landed like a 7 iron. Awesome, and, after I gave it a mid-life update (as the RAF would call it) it carried on performing just as well with a newly-finished head and a shiny face area.

Sadly, the modern ball doesn't work so well with the older woods and the Nike 3 wood I've got now blows it out of the water in every regard, so it's been replaced.

Cracking club though; and, from a tee peg or a decent lie, it's as versatile, workable and goes as far as it ever did - even with a modern ball.

Mine was the old Ping Tisi original driver. It had a Harrison Pro 1.8 (95 grams) in it.

It's the first time, I somewhat became a straight driver of the ball.

Still, to this day, that club was by far the best driver I ever had. I've hit others

farther, but "total driving" was #1 with the that club. :man_in_love:
