here is a barbados that i bought used. Unfortunately the previous owner tried to drill a sight dot in it. I cannot find any before pic but heres what it looks like now.

Sick looking putter! Would be even cooler with the center sight line in red! Or maybe the two outside in red and the center white. Or tie in some green like the palm tree on the center sight line and a lime green Grip Master grip.

A little off topic, but does anyone know if Lamont will only do jobs on damaged putters? Or has anyone had a new putter done for a more unique look ?

I have to agree with SteveL1. Seeing this work from LaMont has me seriously jonesin' for a rehab custom project. They are just so perfect looking when he's done with them.

 

I would have never even considered a personalized putter 6 months ago, but a summer of perving on LaMont's work has me sold.

I don't want to speak out of turn but isn't it just coated black with a different paint fill? The Palm tree and writing was all there before, just in different colours?

 

I still love the look, the contrast is great but not sure what is artistic about it? Am i missing something?

The artistic side of this is in the craftmanship itself. LaMont didn't alter the putter in any way, just refinished and added a different paintfill. I consider all of the club customizers/refinishers artists in their own right, but art is such a subjective term.

 

You can't deny the quality of the craftmanship.

Looks very good as I said, some of the putters I have seen look fantastic.

But paint filling being an art form? As you say its subjective...

Here are a few pics of the "before" state of the club. It was pretty clean, as stated, just had that nasty on the topline that was welded-in and smoothed over. It turned out nice and I am fired up that it is what he was hoping for.

Among the definitions of artist is: "one whose work exhibits exceptional skill". I don't know about you, but I have a feeling if I tried this the results would look a whole lot different, i.e., worse.
