V2 76g would be lower launch lower spin than the Proto 60s just because it's a heavier shaft. Heavier shafts always gives lower launch lower spin if you compare apple to apple.

However if you go for Proto 70g range then it could be similar.

My personal preference is V2 over the Protos. You would have to decide your own personal preference as you might know already.

Yeah, I get what you're saying...I played with a V2 already before but only briefly maybe because the head was too high lofted so I gave up on it right away. I might just give it a chance again in a nike 5900 8.5* head...That's why I was looking for a low traj. and low spin shaft so I can reduce more spin off the 5900. I just hope this combo works! :D

Prolaunch Red is another good option for low spin low launch at 60g range.

I have the PL red stiff .350 in my hyperX right now, replaced the proto .335...

hit it first time last week...the VS proto seemed to be more responsive or softer? I got more roll with the proto, maybe because when I played the PL red ground was a little soft but I noticed more plugs with the PL red than the proto....

I really have to go for it in order for the PL red to respond but it is definitely more stable than the proto, (again maybe because the proto is softer or because it is .335 compared to PL red's .350 tip? I don't know?) If I go for it with the proto 50% of the time it think it would hook but with the PL red, this is where it shines...straight and looong! I just don't know if I could do that every hole! hehehe

The Proto will feel (much) smoother than the V2

The Proto probably plays slightly softer to flex than the V2

The Proto is probably slightly tip softer than the V2

The V2 spin is probably slightly less than the Proto

Launch angle is probably very similar between the two

Prolaunch Red is a whole different animal - stronger to flex and lower launching than either the Proto or V2, not especially smooth, spin is probably similar to both

You are spot on in my opinion-where is a good place to get this kind of comprehensive comparison. We need the slicefixer bible of shafts!

The VS proto profiles more tip stiff than the V2 in comparable weights. The V2 in the 65g version is a noodle in the tip section, the 76g is much more stout, but still shy of the VS proto 70.

Also very true-I have a TEE VS Proto Driver with the VS proto 70 stiff shaft and I can't get any launch with it at 106mph swing speed yet get good results with a V2 76 gram in a 905R. Selling the TEE if any one is interested.

If you want the low spin, like the V2, but the smooth feel, like the VS, try the new Axiv Core. I heard around here that it's smoother and low spin. Im actually thinking about trying a Red Label.

Spot on. I would try the Red AxivCore. Similar launch to the V2, but even lower spin and MUCH BETTER feel!

I personally play the Black, but i wanted a higher launch.

if you really want lower launch and especially lower spin go with th V2 85 from UST Tour Shop.

I play S flex only as the shaft plays stiffer to its flex with 1.7 torque (350tip OD) otherwise 1.8° torque and the weight.

If you prefer lighter shafts the Pro Launch Red or Grafalloy Blue or Pro Lite to come into consideration.

Of the 2 shafts you stated I would think the V2 76 spins much less and will give lower launch than VS Proto taken into consideration the 60 VS Proto Version (already some material weight difference here).

Golfingly
