I was just at Golf Galaxy and they are (and maybe other retailers too) are selling the Z-URS and Z-URC for 24.99, i''m sure many know this but this post was really to notify those who didn't know and also any comments on these balls

$19.99 at Morton's with free shipping if you buy two dozen or more at a time. So really only a few dollars more per dozen than an economy ball. I started using these recently to replace Noodle+ balls, in order to get better spin / hold performance around the greens. I like them a lot. (Z-urs). Not sure they are the best for overall distance off the tee, but performance there is good enough. For me, this is a natural step to move to, from a softer mid spin ball to a higher spin ball but still at a good price. You can't find another urethane covered three piece unless you go to the $26 price level or higher.

whats the main difference betwen the ZURS and ZURC. im looking for great greenside spin and distance. I was thinking the ZURS?? good choice.

The Z-urs is like the ProV1 and the Z-urc is like the ProV1x.

 

The Z-urs should have more spin (green side) but less driver spin than the Z-urc.

The Z-urc is for higher swing speeds. I think the Z-urs flies a little higher as well

 

The reason why they are on sale is because (according to the Golf Galaxy manager) is because the Z-star is replacing them and the only difference to the Z-star and Ur-s is the dimple design. I think the dimple design also contributes to the softer feel since the new dimple design may incorporate a differ cover maybe.

zurs is for swing speeds down to 80. zurc requires higher swing speeds. there is more difference between these balls and zstar than just dimples, but these are still great balls at great prices.

I stand corrected, the Z Star's (both) generate about 500 more rpm's than the ones they replace (source: Golf Mag or GD one or the other)

I was in PGA Superstore here in Atlanta yesterday, and they had stock of the Zurs and Zurc for $24 each, both the new Zstar ball types at $39 each, and prov1 and prov1x on sale for $34 each.

TGW had them for 19.99 per dozen also, picked up 2 dozen of each. I haven't even tried this ball, but at that price how can you go wrong!

I have only been playing for about 1 year and played the back 9 this weekend with a z-urs and really liked them. I went out and bought 6 dozen at golf galaxy the next day since they were on sale. I previously had been playing with anything that was onsale =(cheap) at the local shop and really noticed a difference with the Z-URS. I made a couple really bad chip shots that normally would have been off the green, but they checked up nicely and left me with a shot to make the put. This might not have had anything to do with the ball, but my putting was also much more consistent, distance wise using the Z-URS.

 

This was my first time using a high-quality golf ball, so maybe others might not be as impressed, but they seemed to work for me and were not much more than what I was buying before.

the superstore in marietta, ga still has stock in zurs/star for 19.99. Best deal by far. I swing at 105+ and am quite happy with the soft feel of the zurs. My ONLY complaint about this ball is it tends to be affected more than other premium balls in the wind. Durability is great.
