My TP Ball # -- 2 dozen for $55 at tgw.com!!!

Saw a mention of this while just randomly reading threads, but thought it deserved a more attention.

 

It's a killer deal for those that like to order their custom #, or for those cheapies like me that always wanted to but never decided to shell out the coin--I have a club ho addiction to pay for so custom numbered balls had to take a back seat.

 

I figured I'd give the Sharpo grips a shot, so I got 13 of the Sharpo White Multi Compound Cord grips and 2 dozen balls for $100 shipped!!!

It looks like the custom number version of the sale doesnt apply to the LDP version of the TP ball. You can still get the LDP for 2 for $55 which is a great deal.

Not so...the writeup for the "custom number" balls doesn't mention LDP, but clearly pictured is the TP with LDP box.

 

To verify, I just called tgw, and the only "my tp" balls available are the LDP ones. I'm pretty sure the "my tp" balls are only available in TP LDP, not the old TP version since it's a fairly new promotion.

 

The web designers are supposedly going to fix the writeup under the "custom number" balls to reflect the LDP version.

 

EDIT: Just wanted to put in the disclaimer that I'm in no way trying to sound like an Word not allowedhole by contradicting the statement by SUBPARJ. For some reason, it seems like this is needed a bit lately as people are getting offended a bit easily. The order page is actually a bit confusing, so I'm glad SUBPARJ did put his response. I just wanted to confirm for everyone else that it is indeed the newer, LDP ball that is available here.

In the past you had to order 3 dozen of the same color to get custom numbering. Is this still true? Can you get custom number on 2 dozen for $55?

Yes, you can custom order 2 dozen...that's how I started my order until I had a brainstorm. You can do even better than 2 dozen for $55. I just called Golfsmith...their website has the 2 for $55 on TP Red/Black balls, but NOT for the custom My TP balls. Cha-ching....enter 115% price match policy. Show the Golfsmith customer service rep the way over to TGW.com, and it's all she wrote. Total for 4 dozen TP Red LDP balls in #76 at my door...

I called Golfsmith and tried to do the 115% price match thing and they said TaylorMade was on their exclusion list. What's up with that?

In my experience, depending on who you're talking to at Golfsmith..... about half of them won't pricematch something on the exclusion list "because of MAP". The other half doesn't say anything.

 

It's been so random I have no idea what the company policy *actually* is.

TP Red with the "/" are NON-conforming and, according to Post 11 in this thread are illegal to use. http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=231069

The last post is not exactly right. There are TP Red's with a "/" that are on the conforming list. They need to have a "." at the very end on the right side like this:

The previous post is EXACTLY correct. Post #19 is NOT. That is why I included the link to Taylor Made (USA). TM (Eur) is actually more comprehensive but they don't mention the "slanted square" either. They specifically state, right away, the <TP/RED.LDP> is the ball that was taken off the conforming list.

 

The <TP/RED (slanted square) LDP > is NOT the current ball on sale (2 doz for $55). I believe that is an OLDER ball.

 

<TP/RED.LDP> is ILLEGAL. That is the ball is most of the Pro shops I've been in (NO "slanted square)

 

<TP RED.LDP> IS legal (although I haven't yet seen any in the stores). ;)
