How do you guys hit it so far?

I mean my short irons are a little bit off...

but my driver is like 40-60 yards off with the people within my short iron distance..

Reasons why people hit it so far:

1. They are lying.

2. They are older and bigger than you.

3. They have a fundamentally sound swing that creates lots of lag on the downswing.

4. They are lying.

+1 Amen :D

2 factors nobody is mentioning:

Location - if your live where it's high or dry you likely get 10 more yards per club

Iron lofts - manufacturers are playing the loft game again, 46* PW for example (Ping and Callaway are notorious...)

Or where its humid. I loose a full club in the winter.

and some of these driver numbers seem like the had a 50 knot wind at their back lol

I know you are thinking that I am just bullsh!ting you(even though im not, I can post a video of my swing if that makes you happy). But I realy dont appreciate negitive coments like anthonykim3.

And we dont appreciate the immaturity; I know you just want recognition and your surprised you dont get it, but watch your mouth and respect your elders. The video prolly has no sound so you cant hear the wind roaring lmao. take it easy bro and remember "argueing online is like running in the special olympics; win or lose youre still a PingG10guy" :D

at ease

Normally I don't like to make negative posts or call people out...but you really need to follow your own advice to this kid.

Wow...

Judging by these numbers everyone has suddenly gone mega long.

I have played in various county and national events and i have never played with anyone

ANYONE who hits there 7 iron from 175 yards on average.

Also i have never ever in my life played with anyone who averages 300 yards off the tee.

The thing that should be posted up is scores and handicap, afterall those are what matter!

For the record im not bashing you all with the 170 odd yard 7 irons, i am just making an

observation from the various golfers i have played around with.

Im 6''3 13 stone with a ss at 118 and play at Sea level and the majority of the yardages i have

read i would probably pull my back out trying to hit my 3 wood 275 everytime.

At 118mph SS a 275yd 3 wood sounds about right, total distance, not just carry.

Sory Anthonykim3 I ment to quote A4A4A4 I pressed the wrong quote button. And PingG10guy I am sorry if I came across imuture and I agree that it is pointless to argue over the internet. Sorry if I made a bad impression. :D

No bad impressions; when youre good at something people get jealous. let them be that way. When we all get offended over stuff back and forth it justs pollutes the thread and its harder to learn from a post full of arguements. I believe your distances, I have a friend who weighs the same as you and is 5' 7"who won a long drive competition with a 370; hes 27 years old. I saw it. If you can be that long at your age (no-h*** lol) I would expect to see you on tour someday. honestly

I think my favorite part of all these threads is the guys with random numbers like 177 or 163, etc. The only possible way you would know that those clubs carry exactly that far would be by using a range finder or getting on TrackMan and hitting 10 balls with every iron to figure out average carry. I also think a lot of people overestimate distance such as the 112 ss with 305 yards as the driver. No possible way to hit it 305 at 112 swing speed unless its wind or altitude aided. You cannot even crack 170 ball speed with perfect smash at that speed. I've fit and seen many fittings and I can count on my hand the number of guys that can fly it 300 yards. I mean today I had 197 yards to a back pin with a front trap sitting down in the rough, I hit 6 iron onto the back fringe probably flew 200 yards in the air but I thought it was a flier lie...doesn't mean I hit my 6 iron 200 yards.

+1! the over estimation is due to the one drive that is downwind and downhill that goes 300 yards
