It's the 2008 model V-Steel, Japan-spec. It's the follow-up model to the V-Steel II (2005). They are selling those in the Philippines at bargain prices now, around $100.

The stock shafts are really light, around 50g. Some would say that the original V-Steel (2003) was a much better club compared to the newer model V-Steel. The R7 St/Ti fairways are also preferred over this club, as well as the 2007 Burner St fairway.

i think taylormade needs to make a new v steel.

mine is one of the most reliable clubs in the bag

 

actually, it is the most used fairway wood in NCAA golf and its six years old. amazing

Just checked the TM Japan site and the V Steel is no longer on it. It was still there perhaps one month ago. I guess I would have to check some local sale bin for a 4 wood now.

JDM only, never discontinued and had been thru few updates.  Still one of my all time faves
