From my own experience, the TP Red spins less and is a little longer off the tee. The ProV also spins more around the greens on the short shots. I also get a little lower trajectory with the TP Red. The TP Red is really geared for higher spin players who want to lower their spin rates. Both are good balls, and I would play either.

Irons: Ping g5 (3-UW) White, CS lite, S
Wedges: Vokey 56.08, 1* up
Putter: SC Futura X5R, 35 in
Ball: Chrome Soft

I recently tried out alot of new balls so here is my take. I am a low spin player, with average swing speed and distance (Driver speed 105mph)

LDP Red feels softer than the 09 ProV1, feels more like the 08 ProV1 IMO. ProV1 feels similar to the LDP Black. softest to hardest, Red, V1, Black

LDP Red flies lower off all clubs for me, ProV1 is higher again like the Black. Lowest to highest, Red, V1, Black

ProV1 spins way more for me than the Red off wedges and short irons. Highest spining to lowest, V1, Black, Red

Durability, they are all pretty good, I only scuff them a bit off aggressive wedges, but the cart path took alot of cover off the red when I hit it.

Distance, I couldn't really tell that much difference the Red seemed to go farther but they fairways were really firm that day and the lower flight probably resulted in alot more roll

Isn't the TP Red the higher spinning ball? Its confusing the way they write it on their boxes, because they state its for lower spin players, but then state it gives better carry (i.e. it adds spin).

I know I took a sleeve out on a windy day recently, and really paid the price. I've never hit a ball that high before...then I looked at the sleeve and realized my mistake.

The red is the lower spinning lower flight ball compared to the black. The black feels firmer and flies higher. The red is an excellent windball, due to it's low spin and low launch.

The TP Red has helped me get my spin numbers down, which helps with ballooning and giving me more distance. It's a good ball for the high spin player.

i started playing the tp red ldp just a few rounds ago and love them. i'm hitting my drives about 10 yards further on average and the only thing i had to get used to is how they release a bit on the greens. the ball is fantastic in the wind and i don't have to worry about it being pushed around at all. i love them.

Your review is pretty much the exact same experience I have had. I also noticed less side spin if I hook an iron which for me is a big plus.

On approach shots I can deal with less spin given the factors above. I also like the Srixon Z star but I want to play this ball for a while and see how it goes.

Well I order 3 dozen a week or so back. Actually, I was a little disappointed in the overall quality considering how ridiculously good the quality of AAA Burner TPs were that I got a while back.

Like I said... 36 balls total. 28 of them in AAA-AAAAA quality. Only like 2 logos... But 8 balls that I think are really AA quality. If brown is showing that's a cut right? Or is it a scuff? I almost e-mailed LGB to see what they had to say..... but it's not worth the hassle to me.

I AM surprised at how durable the covers on these balls are though. Either my wedges/ball striking is dulling or they are MUCH harder to shred than the Burner TPs.

Awesome ball... Been hitting so many greens since switching it's not even funny.
