Grafalloy Prototype Bimatrx

Recommended Posts

but if its based on its kick point, why cant i get another shaft with the same kick point, like and NVS

Β

What Grafalloy is saying is that you need to increase loft to increase launch angle but doing so increases spin rate. The Bimatrx reduces or minimizes that increase in spin rate. You could go to another lower kick point shaft for help increasing launch angle, but the spin rate will not be lowered as much as with Bimatrx.

Β

I've heard $90 will be the selling price.

So if I have a 8.5 J33 460 and I put this in, it will play like a 7.5? Or, will it launch higher but spin the same?

Β

Launch higher compared to what shaft? It won't reduce effective loft, but it is supposed to lower spin rate.

what this shaft is supposed to do is no different from what most low spin shafts on the market achieve.

Diamana blue etc. High launch with low spin...with adequate loft depending on player. It's a lot of good marketing speech for nothing new. I still want to try this shaft eagerly..always liked steel. some steel is better than no steel... :golfer:

At the same time, I am using an X flex to keep spin down..but I cam finding it hard to draw the ball for the extra distance..This shaft sounds I could maintain control and draw the ball to with a stiff flex...amybe tipped some..1/4 or nothing at all....Someone please send me a stiff flex. (cool)

(cool) I like that quote!

Β

I too am very interested in this shaft, whether Tiger plays with it or not. Does anybody know what the flex profile is on this shaft? Soft butt/stiif butt? Soft mid/stiff mid? Soft tip/stiff tip? High/low bend point?

ttplayer and skink have it right - there's nothing new here and that includes some of the misleading marketing spin. ;-)

Β

but to answer the question about why not just use a low kick point shaft to get the launch up - there are a few reasons. 1, it might increase the spin, which isn't necessarily bad for some players but terrible for others. 2, and more importantly, a low kick point shaft might not be suited for your swing tempo, transition, etc. and you will lose control of the club. use loft to get trajectory, fine tune with the shaft for control and tweak.

Β

there are some studies that show that the old adage, 'softer flex gives you more distance' is only true because softer flexes give you more loft at impact - it doesn't actually transfer any more energy (in fact, it might transfer less). it is the increased launch that adds distance, not the 'kick' of the shaft. if the same player goes up in loft and uses a stiffer shaft, they will likely get the same distance increase - and with more control. of course, it might also feel like crap but that's beside the point ;-)

Joe, how does the BiMatrix in X flex compare to the V2 in an X flex, as far as overall distance, spin for someone with a high ball flight and 120 mph swing speed? thanks

Josh

I haven't had a chance to hit them side by side.

Β

TT hasn't send me samples yet.

Β

Β

To All,

Β

First of all, TTPlayer gave you guys the right info here.

Β

Basically this shaft is for someone who are looking for reducing their spin rate but that doesn't mean will fix our swing. At the end, We still have to analise it if it the swing or/and the club that need to be fix. And we need to make sure we have enough launch angle when we reduce our spin rate to get a maximum carry potential.

Β

Plus, reducing a spin rate is not always the best for every players. For example, a 25 handicap should not have 2500rpm spin rate. He/she is going to have a hard time hitting it straight.

89 dollars from golfsmith. completely in stock and ready to be sold.

Β

IMO true temper/grafalloy is going to capitalize not as much on the technology of this shaft but the bubba and tiger effect. I am sure there are going to be a lot of ill fitted drivers out there with people who hit it with way too low spin because they will see this at golfworks and go thats bubbas pink shaft or tigers shaft and buy it up. It is unfortunate that more people do not frequent sites like this. If you have trouble keeping the ball in the air this is not going to be the shaft you want.

My SS is around 110-115 and my last reading had my ball spin at 4300 with an 8.5* loft. I hit the ball high and only carries around 240 - 250 and stops dead with no role, will this really help me?

Is there a chance that you probably have a decending blow at impact.

Β

Try to analize that first before making decision, because shaft can't help you that much if the fault is a decending blow swing.

I have a fairly flat swing, but I've never really looked at the blow at impact.
