The Eye 2 SW is amazing. I have tried to replace it several times, since frankly I think it looks plain ugly at address. But, the thing just performs. If there ever was such a thing as a "forgiving" wedge, the Pine Eye 2 would be it.

Yep, absolutely agree. I tried to get rid of it forever because it was so much different looking than the rest of my irons. You got some looks playing smaller forged players CB's and then 2 old beat to death Eye 2 wedges in tournaments. I thought they were ugly from address too but I don't know if its the sole grind or what but they are unbelievable wedges.

But I question whether or not you are man enough to smoke the Opus on the course. Maybe you should bring something a little milder.

;)

See you on Wednesday.
We shall see. I'm certainly not above stealing whatever is in your humidor. So, bring something decent. :drinks:

Thanks robbie. I got the humidor from Armored Humidors (www.armoredhumidor.com). They are great. They are made of Lexan (think Nalgene bottle) so they are nearly indestructable. They have a little Humidipak underneath the trays that maintain the humidity. The one in my picture is Model 1060 which holds 8 cigars. That one is a little big, so I also have the Model 1030 version which holds 4 cigars and is a bit smaller.

Do you carry 4 OpusX for 18 holes? Or 2 for 18, and 2 for your buds? Or is that your overnighter setup?
I typically take a mix of sizes in Opus X and Fuente Anejo. I usually only smoke one per round, but I never know what I'm going to want until I get out there. So, I like to have a selection and always have an extra in case someone in the group is a cigar smoker. The cigar on the right was smoked two days ago and it was fantastic. It was fantastic until one of my playing partners accidentally stepped on it when I set it down to hit a shot. I did shed a couple of tears.

I normally take 3 cigars for 18, but maybe get through two. Start with a Cuban #2 Monte or Cohiba Siglo VI and finish with a Punch Punch or Jose La Piedra if it's a long rd.

Sad about your partners misplaced feet. Sounds like he was a bit to close for my comfort. If there's one thing that annoys me it's people standing to close and or behind me when I am over the ball. Etiquette says stand to the left or right and NOT on cigars

The Cuban Monte #2 is a fantastic golf cigar. One of my all time favorites. Yes, it was particularly sad since that particular Opus X had been aged for over 4 years. The only thing that saved him from a 3 hybrid across the back of the legs was that he was my partner in a scramble. That's why he was standing so close and allowed to live another day. :russian_roulette:

Yes, I am talking about Cabela's the outdoor store. Also, one of my favorite places. That's where I go for nearly all of my outdoor gear.

Too bad about the Trifecta. That is a good lighter. As far as a triple flame replacement. Check out the Xikar Ellipse II. It's a triple flame and goes for about $70-$80. Very cool lighter and has a lifetime warranty. The gunmetal version is especially sharp IMO.

I know you didn't ask but my 2 cents on that shaft - it's 69 grams and 3.9 torque. That is a good weight and TQ combo for a wood especially if used off the deck. I don't know the OP's motives, but I've known a number of good players that like going after 3wd so they go lighter then driver.

Good catch Pixl. That shaft does not particularly "match" with the rest of what is in my bag. This is basically an experiment. As Pepper mentioned there are people that choose to go this route (although it's not typical). I've never been very good with the 3 wood, even back in the day when my handicap was on the + side. I hit my driver, hybrids and irons very high. But, my 3 wood trajectory in inconsistent at best. My previous 3 wood shaft was a steel Rifle 6.5. It was very heavy and fairly consistent with the rest of my bag, but I had no confidence in it.

I decided I really liked the 909F2, and figured I was probably going to reshaft it myself anyway. I wanted something a little weaker than most of the x-stiff stuff I had. This particular shaft is known to be a bit weak, so I thought it would be worth a try, since there was no upcharge. The jury is still out although it's looking pretty good. The club is fantastic off the tee. I'm still trying to figure it out off the deck. It looks like I may have to face the ugly fact that it's the indian and not the arrow.

For the record, OpusX20 did smoke the cigar in question so I am giving him his man card back. Additionally, I almost shed a tear when it met its untimely end. Thankfully, I did not step on it.
