How many WRX have $1k bags

My receipt for my very first Wilson golf bag reads: $1187.60. And it's dated,June 7, 1993.

Today however, you buy a set of irons (8 clubs) alone, it will not be surprizing to see a close to $1K tag. When you add woods, wedges, putter, bag and maybe a push cart and hybrids, not including shoes and other accessories golf related, I would guess that today's golf attire is much closer to $3,000. And that's for decent stuff....Nothing over the top, IMHO......At least, that's the story I sold to my wife AND, she understood the v-e-r-y f-i-r-s-t t-i-m-e.

I'd guess that most people browsing golf forums have at least 1k in their set. I spent $1300 in 2005 when I bought my current set and it was by no means "top" of the line and included previous year driver/fairway wood so I saved 300-400 right there. I also only added a 56 degree wedge and don't have a 5 wood/hybrid either which I'd like to add. My next bag will probably be 1k just for irons and total closer to 2k total, but I have also kept every set of clubs I've purchased for at least 5-7 years...so I don't mind spending that kind of money infrequently. I spend a lot more on computer parts (I'm a programmer)

$1000 is kind of low for a site like this.
However I bet if you surveyed the first tee at most public courses it would be less than 10%

The old I can play just as well with this stuff, or I'll get better gear when I get better. "Most" golfers aren't this into it.

I did just buy a ltd. edition aluminum divot tool straight from Divix Golf for what I consider is a fair price ($50 for gift set). It was a lot to spend for a divot tool, but it's so cool and gets attention so I think it's worth it lol. I'd like to put KBS C-taper's in my irons this summer, but that's probably about a $500 investment when all's said and done between installation and Iomic grips. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to getting my bag the way I want it so I can stop spending money lol, at least for several more years...

Buy whatever I want, pretty much when I want it and that's how it is. Should have done that with the first wife. and I had to, when you pay 5 to 600 dollars for a cable for your pre amps, things could get weird.
