How many WRX have $1k bags

Yikes, there must be some 2,5 k worth of clubs in my bag. And another 1 k in the garage...

Never counted before, but now that you mentioned, I've also got about 4 k maybe in my hockey bag, propably 2,5 in my bowling bags and a modest 800 in my tennis bag...

As a juvenile tennis enthusiast, I bought Puma Blue in the 80's, but wanted to have 2 frames of the same sort. However there was only RED's available in my country by the time I looked for the change. They were totally different and sloppy rackets. After that I had to play with the worse set for years. Back in those days both were pretty expensive, soI had to lend the money from my folks and earn it back from my summer jobs and weekly allowances, took some time.

With this experience I never settle for the "OK-minus for my game and ability, but want to have my gear from the top shelves. Nothing is more annoying than playing with equipment that does not feel right for your game and abilities. Even when my abilites are not that good, i.e Hockey, I like to wear the best fitting equipment, skates and gloves at least.

It is far more enjoyable to go hobbying while you don't have to worry whether or not you get for instance injured due to bad gear.

$1000 is nothing to a serious golfer. Retail, I'm at around $3300. I paid a lot less of course, but no where near $1000, maybe 2/3 of retail.

Wedges: $390
Putter: anywhere between $50 and $300 depending on what head looks good that day.

I'd have to think that at Retail, or minimum advertised price, anyone with a relatively recent non-boxed set of clubs has at least a grand, it's nature of the sport.

If you bought new, considering high quality, brand name sticks, who can put something together, even a year or two old, for less than a grand...start Ebaying and what bag can you build for a $1000, including the bag (which can be $200 or more).

This could be interesting We might learn we all paid too much, or aer just HOs!

Definitely in the 1K club. Looking to revamp my whole set and I'm not sure my $2,200 budget is going to get everything I want in the right specs. I'll have to do some homework if I wanna find the deals I suppose. Little wary of eBay and such because of fakes and less-than-honest reports of club setups. Put simply, I'd pay a premium for authenticity and some semblance of exactness with my new clubs. But I love golf –– it's well worth it.

My bag is about $1200.00 only because this year I bought a new driver,3wood 2 hybrids and a new set of Irons,I kept my wedges and putter cause I love em so much.Not to mention the added cost of misc. like balls,tees divot fixer,valuables pouch and sunscreen.Oh yeah forgot about the bag itself,but that was bought 2 yrs. ago.

I'm sure I'm just echoing the sentiments of everyone else on this thread, but I think you would be hard pressed to find a golfer who's bag was less than $1000, unless they were a junior or beginner playing a "boxed set" from Dick's or something like that. Hell, even these guys out these still playing Ping Zings & Big Berthas paid top $$$ or them at the time. I have three sets currently, that I'm keeping, and though I didn't pay full retail for any of them, I roughly have $1800 - $2400 in each set, respectively. Even if you were to go out on eBay today & buy all used equipment that was roughly 2-3 year old technology, I imagine you would still pay, at the very least, $900 - $1000. And that's just on the items / brands that didn't have a high resale value. Clubs from Ping, Titleist, Mizuno etc seem to hold their value much longer & therefore demand a higher price used, vs other OEM's. That isn't a dig or meant to start an argument, but your not putting together a set of i15's or AP2's w/ a grand. Anyway, my .02 worth.

The OP must have actually been part of the EstrangedGolfersWivesClub. I've got over 1K in wedges for bogeys sake and the amount I've spent on golf flat out aggrevates my wife. But the reality of it is that I'm comfy with what I've spent on my bag to get it the way I like it and thats all that matters.

As much money as green fees/ memberships etc cost us, what's a grand in clubs. I only club Ho drivers and putters. think Gopd or there's no telling what I might spend. I had 2 drivers show up this week.
