I am going to Vegas the beginning of Feb. I was wondering what are the nicest courses to play. I really want to play Wolf Creek. So thats 1rd down I have two more I need to decide on.

You realize that Wolf Creek is in Mesquite - 1.5 hour drive from LV ?

Woilf Creek is an amzing course. You wonder how they ever built it. Its about 80 miles North of Vegas, but worth the drive. As suggested in another post the three Paiute courses are great choices closer to the strip. The new Nicklaus course, The Chase at Coyote Springs is also very good. Its about a 45 minute drive from the strip. Here is a link to favorite Vegas golf courses:

I'll be in Vegas next week and wondering if anyone's been to any of these and can offer any condition reports, etc. I've got times at:

Paiute

Coyote Springs
Primm Valley

I played Paiute last year and loved it, which is why I'm including it again. Plus, I have one day to play 36 so I'll play Wolf and either Snow or Sun, whichever is more open when I'm ready to go back out.

Coyote Springs looks great, but I haven't read a ton about it. Looks like it's worth the hour drive. I'd guess if they were 20 minutes from the Strip, they'd fetch $275 a round. I've wondered if the lack of development will take its toll on maintainence.

Primm Valley Lakes, should be interesting. I've heard a lot of good things and that it's worth the drive.

As you'll notice, I'm willing to drive a bit to get a good course at a lower price. Last year's trip included a ride to Wolf Creek, but I just couldn't swing it this time. At first we were going to play Legacy but Primm Valley popped up and according to what I've ready, should be head and shoulders above Legacy. Another option is Tuscany, but again, I think Primm Valley still stands tallest.

I really wish I had one more day to add, because I wanted to play Revere, the timing just won't work. I've seen mixed reviews, and didn't want to take a chance replacing any of the other three with Revere, especially since I couldn't work it out for the 36-hole day.

Any thoughts? I've still got time to make changes if anyone wants to steer me toward something else (or away from one of these). Last year I played TPC Las Vegas and found it to be brutally tough, although I had just gotten off the plane and hadn't played in four months at that point. Also played Reflection Bay, but sadly that's closed. While RB wasn't the most difficult or architecturally enthralling courses, I think it was the most enjoyable round. Didn't have the WOW of Wolf Creek, the conditions of Paiute, but between the forgiving fairways, being paired with a great couple, a nice friendly staff, it's a shame it's gone.

Really excited, and counting down the days.

I will be there Sunday to Wednesday. Wynn, Coyote, Wolf Creek.

Don't let the remoteness of Coyote Springs scare you off. One of the best courses I have played period. Demanding shotnmaking to score, excellent conditions, great practice area, little other facilities. Great golf period. The greens are small and tricky. Careful to read for speed and double breaks. Come into them short rather than long. Play the tee boxe that is one up from what you normally play. Many scratch and low HC golfers try the tips and can't break 85.
