I would like to invite any Golf Wrx members to the

2010 Golf Wrx Mid-Atlantic Golf Outing
Date: Saturday, August 14 2010
Time: TBD, but will be no earlier than 12:30
Place: Blue Bell Country Club, Blue Bell, PA
Cost: $95 (includes cart)

If you are interested please RSVP as soon as you know you are available either in this thread, PM or email ([email protected]), but I'll set a final RSVP date of 7/31.

Also, please let me know if you would be interested in a very informal post-outing get-together.

If anyone is looking for hotel accomodations, there is a hotel across the street called Normandy Farms and it looks like their weekend rate is around $130. If you are looking for a chain hotel, I'd recommend looking in either Fort Washington or Plymouth Meeting.

It is my genuine hope that I can make the Mid-Atlantic outing and I will make every effort to do so. Unfortunately, with both my professional and personal activities and schedules, I just cannot make a commitment regarding an August date. I assure you as soon as I can make a confirmation one way or the other I will. Just for informational purposes, how far is the course from Annapolis.

I appreciate the heads up. I just need to have a good idea of how many times I need to reserve 2 weeks before the date.

As for the drive from Annapolis, MD, it's probably around 2:30 depending on traffic.

As long as it's informal....I don't do tux's on the weekend But some 19th hole rehashing is always fun!!

If the best we can do is 1 or 2 rounds together prior to August, I would suggest that we have failed in establishing our priorities. At the minimum, I think we need to improve on our previous efforts.

LOL!! You are so correct. I hate when work gets in the way of my priorities But I as you know with me being in the hospitality industry, I'd rather under promise and over deliver.

So on that note, I posted in the Maryland section that Hacker and I are playing at Waverly on Wed at 2:00 if you're interested in a mid afternoon round.

Wow, how did I miss this? I am almost sure that I'm in, but can't commit just yet, too early.

As for the course choice, fantastic! I live less then 15 minutes away in East Norriton and I go college right across the street from there. Never have I been able to play blue bell, but it is an Arnie classic and has always been known as an outstanding course. The only negative I've heard is from a couple former members whom I know or have met in passing, who said the greens used to be the best in the state, but have since been less taken care of and are now only higher priced country club average. None the less the course is supposed to be phenominal, and I truly hope to see you guys in August! It will also be only 6 days before my birthday, so hopefully I can make this an early Birthday present to myself.

I am so pumped now after reading this, you have no idea.

No worries about not committing yet.

As for the course conditions, we hired a new super a couple of years ago after the last one neglected the course and his impact is starting to really show. Currently the greens are the best they have been in years as is the rest of the course. Mind you, the weather will dictate how they will be in August, but I can tell you that the membership is very happy with how the course is playing right now.

Great to hear lux. one of my co-workers lives on the 9th hole and said it's now the 18th and that the course is being reformatted again, do you know exactly what they are changing?

derrick, keep the carpool in mind. If Priceless plays we plan on meeting possibly a the Park and Ride at Rt 32 and I-95 if that works for you. Even if he doesn't I could still meet you there.

I'm not sure what your co-worker has heard, but there are no changes planned.

The 9's were flipped years ago when the now 10th hole was changed to a par 3.
