What is the one "must play" course to play in the Myrtle Beach area?

I will be in MB in July and will only have time to play one round. I can travel 30-60 mins in any direction from South MB. What is the one course that I should play while there? Just for fun, let's say money does not matter. I appreciate your responses in advance.

I endorse the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club; it is my favorate in the area. If it is not doable, then I would suggest the Dunes Golf and Beach Club and finally the TPC Myrtle Beach.

Caledonia rocks. Plus, the 18th is the closest many people will come to playing in front of a gallery. All those people sitting on the porch are talking, drinking and sometimes even betting on your play.

I've played most of the top public ones in the area and I would recommend Tidewater. It's a great layout with great views! When you get in town go over the Mortons PGA superstore and they have a golf desk right inside the front door. The person there is pretty knowledgeable and can tell you which course have the best conditions when your there and they will book your tee time for you and get better rates than you can. You should be able to get some pretty good deals in July because its so hot. Have a great trip!

Definitely...but unfortunately it's just as you describe... a club, private at that Have they started letting non-members on or are they doing that package deal with the Grande Dunes again?

Bumping an old thread so as not to start a new discussion on a similar topic... any thoughts on the Avocet Course at Wild Wing? I'll be staying at Wild Wing next week and plan to get one round there at a minimum, and maybe another round someplace else if time permits (family vacation with 6 kids, not all mine, between ages 1.5 and 9).

Caledonia and True Blue are favorites of many. Largely because they are so well known.

Glen Dornach is my favorite course in the Myrtle Beach. Amazing layout. The last 3-4 closing holes will take your breath away. Located about 15 minutes north of N Myrtle Beach near Little River (state line).
