Apex II

I just bought this set off ebay a little over a week ago and still haven't had a chance to play them. Just wondering who has played them and what your opinions are.

Those are pretty clean. Did you get them with Apex or Legend shafts?

I played that set for several years. Very demanding iron by today's standards but pure butter when struck well.

Thanks. The shafts say AMF Hogan Vector. I thought for $100 I could afford to give them a try.

Those look good. I just picked up a set for myself off ebay.

I thought they were easier to hit than earlier model Apex irons. They will be demanding, and the lofts are about a club weaker than modern.

Looks nice, I've always liked the shape of Hogan irons. They won't be the easiest clubs to hit.

Great set. I just played with my set of Apex II Black Cameo's last month. It was a very humbling experience having last played them in high school when I played every day. Still super feeling...just not as often since I'm nowhere near the ball striker I was back then.

I hit mine as well as I ever did...... Which isn't saying a whole lot..

 

I think it was in 1978 that I got my Apex II's but I think it was the same year that I got the Ping B-60 putter. I still take my Hogan's out about once a month, and honestly it doesn't make any difference in MY game which irons I use...

I carried the 1-9, EQ through 4 years of college and my first couple of years as an assistant pro. A little weak by today's standards but were a little stronger than most in their day. I played the Apex 4 shaft which in my opinion is still one of the greatest steel shafts of all time.

My dad had a set he let me play in high school. Loved them, even the 1 iron. Nothing felt better or worse. In my opinion, these are some of the best looking irons I have ever seen.
