Rolex Clocks....

Recommended Posts

Like the ones you see at the Open, US Open, Memorial...
Hey Gang,

Weird question but does anyone know how you can get a Rolex Clock for your Golf Course? My Private club is doing some renovations to the Clubhouse and putting green area and I thought it was be a nice addition. I had heard they aren't very expensive since they are used as a marketing tool but wanted to find out some information on having one at the Private club I play at. Just not sure if they only have them at US Open locations or that sort of course.

I'm going to try Rolex Canada when they are open tomorrow, and see what they say as well.

Thanks,

Mack

If their price is any indication it's going to cost much more then imagined. I'd call Rolex corporate in Switzerland and talk with the public relations dept. They could direct you to North American operations, etc.

Rolex will install them on major championship venues,or as a sponsorship agreement. There are other companies that manufacture the course clocks. Check with the course super first he/ she will have tons of catalogs , I am sure Wittek can get them. The other place to check is with the CMAA (Course Managers Association of America). They have directories of companies that make course items .

No, the same model, same band I have. I remember when I bought mine, I looked at the cost of the ladies watch. Later when I bought my wife one, I paid the same for hers that I had paid for mine. Now, the men's watch is in the price range where the solid gold one used to be at the time I bought mine.

I think I paid $850 or $900 for a stainless Datejust in 1984. Does that sound about right? Those clocks are promo jobs, so I would imagine that at the right venue, Rolex' North American HQ PR folks could help any decent course acquire one.

Actually, some might pay for the name, but I paid for a mechanical, self-winding movement that still runs within a few minutes a week now 25 years later. No batteries to change! And to boot, when you wear it, people will immediately make assumptions about you that aren't even close to reality!

Yeah, like "look at that dummy that paid thousands for a watch." :russian_roulette:

Actually, my uncle explained it to me one time when I asked him about his. He asked me why I drive a Corvette when a Chevette will probably get me to the same place. I then understood.

Rolexes are so pedestrian- the chevettes of swiss watchmaking, very basic movements can't use the word complicated and movement in the same sentence when talking about them.

Now a Patek, that is a watch.

Actually Rolex isn't by a long shot the most expensive watch. Note the 11 million dollar watch at the bottom of the article.
