Nike Method putter: feedback

Just wanted to receive your feedback on the nike method putter. Have your putting stats increased since putting the method in your bag? I cannot try it where I live so I wanted to get your advice on the club before ordering it from the states!

No. I do love the roll it puts on the ball. My stats have gotten much better since I began lining up the putt with the ball logo. As for a putter improving your putting, not really going to happen unless it inspires confidence when you look down on it.

I switched to The Method 001 model this Spring, sending my trusty Cameron Newport Beach to the basement. I had used my Cameron for 7 seasons, winning one Club Championship and one Member/Guest Invitational at my Club over that period. However, It was time for a change and something new to motivate me.

I will say this, there is definitely a break-in-period with this putter. Especially on longer putts, as the way the ball rolls off the face, I found myself hitting it too hard and putts were running past the hole. Many times this Spring, I thought about switching back to my Cameron, but I stuck with it.

Now, after over 3 months of using it, I am starting to see some really positive results. I really like it a lot and do not see myself changing anytime soon.

I know for a fact (through Brad Faxon) that Tiger had been experimenting with The Method at his home this Spring, but did not game it until The Open. Maybe his break-in-period was not worth the wait. Obviously his Cameron Newport is very special to him and the bottom line is, results.

I bought mine months ago and have never really worked with it because I've bern using my Kia ma most of the season. I'm going to work with the method this off season to get use to the feel and roll.

I think it puts a good roll on it, I don't like the stock grip though. I still prefer my Bettinardi though but this could be a backup.

I had two add a couple extra wraps to the grip because it was so small I was pushing everything to the right. I play a normal size grip too, so if you have big hands, watch out! My putts have gone down and my lag putts have been amazing.

I have used Cameron's my whole life and loved them. However my gamer was stolen in February so I decided to try something new for fun. Picked up a method and a Kia ma Daytona (2009 model...didnt want the insert). The method does roll the ball fast, however I really didn't like the feel of it. It feels almost like a firm plastic. The Kia ma however feels as smooth as a Cameron but rolls the ball better IMO. I am trying to sell my method but am going to wait it out seeing as tiger just pulled the ultimate diss on that putter by trying it then ditching it so quickly...I'm sure the resale vllue of them is rock bottom right now.

Overall I would rate my putters like this:
1) Kia Ma
2) Cameron
3) Nike Method

Let me add tho that there are massive gaps in those rankings.

I love mine. But, like most will comment, the putter is all about how it feels to you and the confidence that it gives you.

I would recommend this putter. I've putted with the Method 001 and the Cameron Studio Style Newport 2 MidSlant. Great results from both. I prefer the Cameron on very fast greens. Method is better on slow greens.

I own a buttonback and currently torn with a 001 I ordered. I've been to multiple stores, demo days and tried my buddies 003.

The key to the method is starting the ball farther up in your stance. At least IMO.

I think most people really try to catch a putter "just" on the upswing to create that roll. Since the method is so effective at creating roll I move it up and catch it later in the upswing and the thing goes. It also causes the ball to break less IMO so speed control is huge.

Watching Tiger I think we all can agree his pace and speed control with the Method and Scotty on Sunday were decent. He's just not getting his lines right. The Method is a fine fine putter. Aesthetically the Cameron is more pleasing to my eye. I think my Buttonback is just oh so sexy and looks to be a higher quality piece to my eye. Just my opinion.

Nike has a really good putter on their hands, I just hope they refine it a little. I understand the slick futuristic look they are going for, but something just seems "off" to me. Either way don't let that influence you. The method is definitely a step above the studio select or california line. IMO the best Camerons have inserts. Loved my studio stainless and now my Buttonback.

I would go Cameron w/Insert>Method>Other Camerons.

Putting fairly well with mine for now...

I will typically putt better once I commit to practicing my putting like I know I'm supposed to!

I have putted well with it so far compared to my past putters...

The last putter I really putted well with was the Anser 4 back in the early 90's!

i wish the method was available in an 8802 style head. i tried an 004 for a weekend (the closest thing to an 8802 style head in the method line) and it didn't impress me enough to keep it.

That would be nice but I think it's safe to say no 8802 style putters will be in the method line.

Had an 002 for a while. I could not get comfortable with it. Just traded it for a SC. Will be putting with the SC, my TriBall, and my White Ice Sabertooth for the rest of the year. Just have to find one that feels good.

The Method does roll nice though. Just not for me.

I rolled one at a golf shop today, IMO felt better than the scotty newports they had, and about the same as AGSI+. Roll is identical to AGSI+ too.
