where should it be?
I only have time for one more round in Myrtle beach and I'm not coming back for quite some time. I want to play a premium course before I leave. I have already played Heritage, Caledonia and True Blue. I was thinkng about the Dunes club or maybe Tidewater. Where do you think my last round should be played?

Can't go wrong with the Dunes or Tidewater. I'd flip a coin because you have already played some of the best there. I'd play one of those two before I went to the TPC or River's Edge.

If you only get one from the area, I can't recommend this one (no offense nikegolfchad). It's neat to play, but for the same money you can find some truly great layouts with superior conditions.

I'd recommend the Barefoot Dye course, as well MB National North course.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. Tidewater is one of my favorite layouts down there and some of those greens will make a man out of you.

Here is a list!

I played the dunes last time I was there. I thought is was a great classic course. Also, at the time, Grande Dunes was recommended to me as well. As you see on this dated GD list, Love course at Barefoot was 1st and Dunes was second. I played Tidewater years ago and need to go again. Have fun!

edit: I have to say, I thought that zig-zag par 5 on the back of the dunes was terrible...weird hole!

Hated World Tour. I would never play there again. It started with the Golf Ambassador following you around being a noisy pain the arse and ended with the course being a swamp from the rain that they received two nights ago. The same rain was taken in by True Blue and although it was wet it was not soggy at all (guess it could be the soil comp on Pawley's Island). World Tour was soaked and soggy. I had a miserable time. AND on the day that we played it they were sending everyone off of the Championship 9 and the International 9.... so we never played the 1st at St Andrews, the 17th from Sawgrass, the 16th at Augusta or the 18th at St. Andrews. Would never play World Tour again.

to OP:

when you say heritage is that the heritage golf course at Legends or is there a different golf course called heritage?
I believe he is refering to the Heritage Club (sometimes called Heritage Plantation) out on Pawley's Island.

If you like the traditional old school parkland approach to golf, then play at The Dunes. If you like a marsh/scenic setting, then Tidewater is your course.

Also, Dunes has bent grass and Tidewater has tif-eagle bermuda ... not sure if it matter to you or not.

Sandy soil at True Blue and a more clay based soil at World Tour ... scattered showers in Myrtle Beach mean just that. It rained at my office for an hour yesterday, got home, 2.3 miles from work, and it never rained. I doubt that both courses got the same amount of rain .... but I hear ya about World Tour being wet. Also this year is World Tour's 10th year in business, they've been giving a free replay on the 9 you didn't play to all their guests.

What did you think of Wicked Stick? Ive lived in Myrtle Beach for 8 yrs now and watched that place go from being ok at one years ago to just flat out desperate. At one point they were giving away John Daly signature drivers with paid green fees (which were only like 30 dollars). I would be surprised if that place makes it another 2 years.
