Why no love for FT-iZ fairway wood?

I search on here and there is nothing about it on this site. Why no love for this club?

Costs more than most drivers so no one is playing? At least that is why I don't have one to match my Ftiz Tour driver.

Maybe its me, but the face looks shut on it. Just kind of scares me away.

I agreed on this..but after hitting balls its really not. I am learning to trust it and it doesn't hook for me. It just wants to produce a straight ball flight than you can draw or slightly cut. This is the most forgiving fairway wood I have ever used. I know the shape is weird but it performs to well not to at least try it.

I give it love every time I stripe it up the fairway. It's probably the best 3 wood I've ever hit.

Ok, I'll have to give this thing a try....

Interesting pick on the driver. The only time I hit it at GS on their LM, I noticed a 3-4 mph increase in swing speed. It was even faster than the SF. No idea why, but I couldn't see the flight, so I didn't get it. Did you get some more distance out of it?

Unfortunate that Callaway priced this so high initially. As an average golfer who struggles with fairway woods, the FTiz is the best fairway wood I have EVER played. Currently have the 5, 7, and 9 in my bad.
Fairly long, very straight and most forgiving FW I've played. Confident at address. Doesn't seem closed to me.

Ok, mea culpa time....

I hit it yesterday after work (traveling, so I had plenty of time after work to try stuff, LOL!), and while I have to hold back dry heaves at address, this thing is very forgiving. I'm coming from a CB3, so maybe that's part of it. I tend to fight a hook, and what I found is that this club turned a hook into a draw, and a draw into dead straight. Not sure about the shaft yet, but it seems ok so far (i used regular flex). I got a good deal on a 5 wood, so I picked it up. I'm hoping I'll have a chance to play it before the season is over, if only work would cooperate!

In any case, I feel like I can once again develop some confidence in a fairway wood, something i've lacked this year except in the pasture that is my league course. Thanks for the assist Bill! Hope you hit it straight this weekend!

I'm 215 yds from the hole in the rough and I pull out a FTIZ 9 wood. My partner says, "you're hitting just a 9 wood, you'll never make it". The ball ends up 2 yds past the hole dead straight. My buddy was just scratching his head. As I have said many times now on this forum, I don't see any fairway woods in the near future moving my Adams 9032ti 3 and 5 woods out of the bag(never say never), but the FT-IZ 7 and 9 woods are money. Better than I could hope any hybrid to be. Just stupid easy to hit long and straight out of differnt lies. Very forgiving. Good stock shaft. Few fairway woods are worth $299, these are definitely worth the reduced price.

i just got done playing 36 holes yesterday at over 7100 yards. I hit my 3 wood on almost every hole off the tee ..I love this club more and more. Its so forgiving and long. Its so darn automatic for 240 yards off the tee with a slight draw that I love. I hit one bad swing with it yesterday where I put my driver swing on it and pulled it way left, but still okay and it should have been way gone in the tall crap. I can also hit in on a rope with a little 5 yard draw off the deck. My favorite fairway wood ever and thats saying a lot. I had some great advice recently...anything over a 5 iron should be game improvement. I carry 2 hybrids (909h) and now this 3 wood. Now trying to figure out the driver. For the first time in awhile, I am considering a GI driver; my 2 degrees open tour driver is WAY too much for me to handle. Too many blocks then I over rotate and spin out to draw it and its screwing up my swing. I just don't want a closed face driver, but neutral is fine. I now wonder if the FT-IZ driver is as good as the fairway wood (not the tour). I know the 9 and 10 degree is square. I just worry about too much spin. May have to start a new post. Also, does anyone know anything about stock shaft in the fairway wood..I love it and am curious what it is. I feel like I can control the shaft and it kicks perfect for my swing.

I would add my experience with the IZ 15* 3 wood. I have been gaming a TEE CB2 for years and nothing could ever kick it out of my bag but lately I have been fighting a hook with it. I have the FT-IZ driver that I love and after all I have read about the fairway woods, when Callaway dropped the price, I decided to give one a try. This club is the best fairway wood I have ever used!! Once you get past the looks it is just so easy to hit and goes long. I will be retiring my CB2 as the IZ is just as long and much easier to hit from the fairway. If anyone is even thinking about fairway woods they need to give these a try.

Still loving the 3 wood. Thinking of picking up a 18 degree to swap out for my 17 hybrid on calm days and shorter par 3s. What is the head size of the 18 compared to the 15? Also, does it preform similar.
