Consensus on Spin Milled

I know alot of people play them here, since they have been out for a while, would you buy them again? I am looking for a 58* wedge, and immediatly thought SM, but I like to hear peoples opinions before I purchase something.

I just got the 60 degree and it is a super wedge i like it and it gives plenty of spin. The one thing against it is that it ripps golf balls to shreads. Apart from that it is a nice wedge.

I'm with jack I have 56 and 60 love them both but they do beat a ball up, esp if you use a thin cover ball like a Prov1 or hx tour.

Spin Milled is a great wedge, i would recommend it to anyone.

 

All the major OEM's have a comparable wedge to each other, if you are not sure, demo all the best ones, Spin Milled, Y Cutter , X-Tour and Cleveland and see which one suits you best.

 

I dont think you are making a bad choice in any of them. Good Luck!

I've been playing golf for 16 yrs. and have only used Cleveland TA 588 wedges until I put a SM Vokey 54 and 60 about a month ago and all I can say is, they're still in the bag. I've often bought wedges to see the new technology but always ended up back to the 588s, sometimes the new wedges only last a week or so in my bag. I like the look and feel of the Spin Milleds, after a while I would think that they will stop shredding golf balls. I am getting a bit more used to them now and so far so good. I have them in the satin finish and they compliment my J33 CBs very well.

ive got a SM 58-12 wedge, chrome, and i would def buy it again as a replacement, when the time comes though, i may look to get the raw or oil can finish spin milled, same specs, for my 58-12 and maybe replace my CG10 54 with a TM TP Satin wedge

They look great and spin the ball like crazy. But they lack the feel and versatility of my Ping Tour's. Just my opinion of course but the Ping Tour in Black Nickel is the best wedge around.

Good wedge, I'd probably get one again, but the Sonartec T-35 is SO good, I'd definately say it's a toss up between both.

 

If Titleist does come out with special grinds with the spin milled's, they're a shoe in. :drinks:

I took out a oilcan SM 58.08 for a week and a half and it was pretty solid (first time I have hit a vokey). It was versatile enough for full shots, partial, sand, rough, hardpan, and whether you sweep or dig it would work I think.

 

The only reason I didn't keep it was I felt the X-tours felt better/softer (to me) and I preferred head shape and GREAT PM-grind of the Callys. The vokey SM head is a bit smaller than the X. Both are great, it just comes down to head shape & bounce/grind as well as feel preference.

I have a 56 and 60 and love them. The only problem, like everyone has said before me, is that they shred balls big time. Great wedge.

I love my 56.10, it was great to get a bounce that suits my game more finally, i had a 14 degree bounce hogan colonial. I have a 200 series gap. I love this wedge, it does shred balls, but its tolerable. It puts enough, but not too much spin on the ball. Oddly enough I hit my hogan 85-90. This one goes 100. I love it.
