Somebody called this in the Ping S56 thread about Ryan. I don't remember who it was but a lot of people seemed to be trying to downplay the fact that Ryan was using Pings.
That was me and Onebowtie. I'm still amazed at something that seemed so obvious was just glossed over by so many people. But now I understand that their perception is skewed because of a very strong loyalty to Scratch even when some of these people don't play Scratch clubs.

There were some people claiming to own national businesses and that you just had to know corporate shareholder structure to understand what was really going on. What do A and B shares of a company have to do with some guy playing irons that he is not paid to play.:cheesy:

Bottom line is some people refused to see what was right in front of them and made excuses for Scratch and blamed it all on Ryan being a flake.
Exactly my point.

I must ask. Who is this poser that wrote that article about Ryan signing with Adams? I was just on the site and it said nothing about it. Second, I think he needs to check him self before he wrecks himself. Don't come on wrx and bring some Not Allowed because of spam nonsense on here. I wish Ryan and ari the best and I am sure both will be fine next year. Who is to say that Ryan won't play scratch irons next year and carry a bag and woods deal. People love to assume things on this site and write articles about scratch like they are perfect people.

Do you care to retract this now that it's been confirmed he's an Adams staffer?

Pardon me for being a little slow but is that where our friendly stock expert got his username, from a car?

I should give him a little credit though. By now i would have thought he'd pop in to mention he hits his 2 iron 220 yards. Of course it has no relevance to the topic but that never stopped him before.

You are way off. It's 240. He doesn't like to talk about his two iron as much as he likes to go on and on about his "V" groove wedges. He will not shut up about them.

I'm also wondering about statement retraction about the MyGolfSpie article. That article seemed to nail it.

Yesterday it was even better. We were all smoking White Owl Xtra Bluntz. We found out that this is a nonsmoking establishment though.:busted2:

Well at the least we found that mixing your humidor with White Owl, Swisher, and Yellow Cohiba was like having a certain cap and bag logo, and then playing another logo branded iron...... just isn't kosher

I think that you all need to go play golf and forget about it.

One person has been good enough to let us know that Ryan Moore is going to Adams and thank you for that.

Ryan Moore leaving Scrach is no big thing.

He has just had his best year and has decided to move on.

He is not Tiger Woods and will easily be replaced.

He has left a great growing company for another great company in Adams.

He has played their driver for a while and their products in my mind are great but no better than Scratch.

But we all do not like the same things.

Horses for courses.

Scratch will not miss him.

But will he miss Scratch?

Only next year will tell.

In my humble opinion he is not a great model or representative for clothing or clubs.

But maybe for Big And Tall.

No need to mix when you have houses on the best private clubs all over the Country. When you feel like the White Owl, just hop on your friend's private jet.

Everyone around here knows that we had some issues with supply and inventory this summer. If you look back, so did quite a few other companies. We saw an incredible amount of growth and that combined with the labor issues in Asia made our clubs in very short supply. This lead to some large backorders. I dont think that is news to anyone around here. However these issues have been fixed and all other issues are in the process of being fixed. We have a full supply of our 8620 wedges right now and will have full supply of irons and 1018 wedges early next week. We have also hired a new Chief Operating Officer who has over 30 years experience in the golf industry to run our daily operations. His knowledge and experience has already been incredibly helpful and he has just started. Lastly we are closing our Oregon office and moving all production and retail supply and shipping to Tennessee which will mean that orders are taken and shipped from the same place and everyone is in the same office. This will also allow us to appoint someone to head our Customer Service department which will be completely revamped, changed and greatly improved. All of this will assure that we have no more issues in the future like we did this summer and I could not be more excited for the future.

Despite the issues of this summer Scratch Golf has had by far our best year ever. Our sales are more than double in 2010 what they were in 2009. Even more exciting we already have more sales in pre orders for 2011 than we sold all of 2010. We are also working with bunch of Tour players in the off season and expect to start the 2011 season with more clubs in play than we ever had in 2010. The future is very bright for Scratch Golf and we really appreciate the support from everyone here on GolfWRX.

In regards to Ryan, Ryan has absolutely nothing but good things to say about Scratch Golf and we have absolutely nothing but good things to say about Ryan. We had a great year together but have both decided to pursue other opportunities that have been set in front of us. We wish Ryan all the best and hope that we can still get some clubs in his bag. I expect him to have a great career with whomever he works with.
I'm sure moving everything under the same roof will be a big help. Thanks for the response and good luck in 2011!

Are you guys talking about Pepperturbo? Just wondering. Didn't read all the posts, but had a feeling.
In the Ryan/PING S56 thread the Grand Poobah told all of us plebs to move along because we clearly didn't have the knowledge or experience to accurately predict what would happen to Ryan Moore and Scratch Golf. It turns out he was completely wrong and doesn't seem to want to face up to that for some reason. Ego I guess.

Cmon guys. Are the personal jabs really necessary? Especially towards a fellow WRXer not even participating in the thread. Most of us have read both threads. We get it.

I was just repeating what someone else said that I thought was funny. It wasn't really anything I would be mad at if said about me on the internet. We argue on here all the time but I have no ill will towards the guy whatsoever. Nice Brian from Big Break quote though....priceless.

Exactly...... Unless those were jabs when we were all being told these things the first time around, I do not think they are jabs now.

More of finding the humor in the lack of participation.... since we all were basically told how uniformed we were and that we didn't get it- I guess the it- wasn't that change was coming and the writing was on the wall and posts by Fairway Freddie and the other rep..... then and now.

He hasn't made post since calling out the "poser" who broke the news about Ryan going to Adams. I will go out on a limb and guess that an apology won't be forthcoming. A unsername change might though lol.

Things I have learned this week:

1. My caffeine and copenhagen fueled theories of Moore playing Pings struck more nerves than I thought it would.

2. A "pepper turbo" is not an illegal cuban cigar like I first thought. (My theories aren't very good as we can tell). It is the infamous Porsche Cayenne Turbo with the goofy red brake calipers.

3. Said calipers are not dyed with the blood of the near extinct South American bling rat, bred in captivity especially for Porsche by Brembo, like I thought they were. It's actually just paint, but sssshhh don't tell anybody.

4. The Porsche lettering on the caliper is just a sticker. It is not available separately from Brembo or from Porsche. If you pressure wash one off, you must buy a new caliper. PN 955-351-421-22 or 955-351-422-22 $513.97 each plus tax @ the dealer, or $900/pair shipped from www.goingsuperfast.com (I have no affiliation with that website).

5. In a blind taste test, 93% of people can't tell the difference between a Gurkha HMR (15 year Connecticut Maduro wrapper with 12 year old Dominican binder and filler aged with one bottle of the world's finest cognac which originally was sold only to dignitary's all over the world) and a Swisher Sweet.

6. Golfwrx.com is the premier source of information. Not just golf, but information. Period.

cheers! [/hijack]

Unfortunately, golf in its unpurest form, is a business.
I understand the point you are making, but golf is not a business.

It is a game, the greatest game of all (someone may have already said that, Jack something. I can't recall). For many it is a game they play once or twice a year and don't think about in between. For others, like Wrx'ers it is an enriching and fulfilling part of the fabric of our lives. It is part of who we are. No need to be overly spiritual or mystical, but golf is not a business.

Adams, Scratch, Ryan Moore, Tiger Woods, etc., etc., they are businesses. They exist and prosper because of the game of golf, but they are not golf. Nothing wrong with making money off the game, after all someone has to make the equipment we use. Just see them for what they are and don't let some of their actions make you cynical about what golf truly is.

To some people it was obvious what was happening. Others insisted on turning a blind eye.

When Camillo was seen with TM wedges in his bag people kind of took the hint. When DL3 was seen with a Bridgestone hat on people thought that that might mean something. When the owner of a company is seen playing another company's products in a PGA event somehow people refused to believe that this meant anything. I'm still astounded by this fact.

The coverage Moore got over his uniqueness and ownership alignment with Scratch provides us with one conclusion: Lack of Candor. By both parties. My interest and support of Scratch/Moore has diminished over this. It's one thing to say nothing, it's another to be mislead. Read the original PING thread from which JASONR5 quotes above. If that's not misleading information by representatives from Scratch, I don't know what is. It just makes me question everything else said over the summer regarding this 'unique' partnership. I don't like being lied to.
