Stratton will no doubt put this bag in play from time to time. I wish I knew the history and exactly who's bag it was. I contacted Jones and sent pics. I am having Delilah produce a pair of vintage Pistol Pete headcovers for this bag. I met some great people on the OrangePower.com site that have some vintage logo's and time correct pieces to put together a set of headcovers that will compliment this bag perfectly.

Here is a logo of the first "Swinging Pete" that was designed by an artist named Dick Gilpin that had a graphic art business in OKC. Through the contacts on OrangePower.com, I was able to contact Mr Gilpin's son who still runs the family graphic art business in OKC. I told him my idea and he gave his blessing and encouragement to have a set of headcovers made with the design that his father designed in the 70's. I am having a couple of extra covers made that I want to give to Mr. Gilpin's son and for a member of the OrangePower.com board that was instrumental in helping me do this.

Here is the original Swinging Pete from the 70's along with matching "cowboys" font for the headcover design:

Stratton has already stated that this bag is going into play at the Trans Miss, or the Pub Links or US Am. Knowing him, if he plays well with it, it will stay in play. He almost set another course record today in a private tournament they had with collegiate players. (He was -10 but 3putted the last hole because he was probably talking so much junk to the others he lost focus) First day, he shot even par and was not close. Sounds like he came up big today tho. 63 and swept them all.

Use it in the Pub Links, it just seems to fit to me. Especially with it being the last year of the pub links.seems like it would be such a cool thing for that event.

Thanks Deepfork! Casdas was a great help to me and it was cool communicating with him about the history of the program. I joined both the Rivals site Corral and the OP site and hope that I can add something to both of the sites. I am proud my son is a Poke and the tradition of golf at oSu is like no other school in the country. It is great to see such support from so many for a golf program at a D1 school.

I have followed some of your posts off and on for some time now. I stubbled across this one while watching pawn stars tonight and got caught up reading about your son and how he has progressed over the past few years as a golfer.

I have to say a couple of things. First, congrats on the journey you both have been on....awesome stuff and pretty cool that we can scan back through the pages and see that change. Secondly, good on you as a dad. Nothing like seeing someone that is doing great things for his kid.

Also good luck to your son in his pursuits in the game of golf. Looks like he has a bright future.

I think the pub links would be a great place to use it. It will make spotting him easier when I come and watch. Love the head cover design.

Deerslayer - I know this has probably been asked before, however, 58 pages is a lot to search through. Any chance you could inform me on your personal favorite paint to use on his clubs? Most websites recommend nail polish, however, I have found that to come off relatively quickly, especially on wedges. I know PING does some of his builds, including paint, so I'm not sure if you even still paint them yourself. Once again, sorry if it has been asked before.

Wolfpack, no problem at all. Go to a hobby shop and buy Tamiya Acrylic X paint. The colors that have "clear" after the color are translucent colors. Apply the paint to the lettering, let it dry for 5 min or so and remove excess with acetone on a paper towel.

Perfect! Thanks for the information. I had trouble locating it, but, I believe it was an anser milled that Stratton had painted the word "anser" in a combination of black and orange where they appeared to fade together. Any tips on how he accomplished that as well? Also, I'm assuming it was using the same paint as above?

Wolfpack, if you wanted to do a black to red fade like that, first use black and fill the bottom of the lettering. Let it completely dry. Next, take "clear red" and fill the top of the lettering. Let the red flow over the black in the middle and it will dissolve some of the black creating the "fade". Tip on fades: always do your dark color first and let it dry prior to applying the lighter or translucent color.

Deer slayer, I just learned of this thread and site a few days ago. It took me a couple days but I made it through and then saw that you werethe one who outbid me on this golf bag. I had been watching it for 5 days!!! You've already made it look great and I know it's in excellent hands!!! I'm certainly rooting for Stratton to do well!!

I'm a lifetime OSU fan a School of Business OSU grad and work for the OSU Foundation now. My 5 year old already loves the game of golf and I have really enjoyed reading the thread and seeing such a great father son relationship!! We go play once or twice a week. Here are acouple vids of him, he's a southpaw! I'm hoping he sticks with it and just enjoys himself and the game!
Does he have a workout regimen he has to follow? Or do they consider the summer an extension of the season with all the tournaments?
He still works out every week. His routine is different from while at school because he is not doing hot yoga right now, but he is still working out. He has been training with some younger player showing them what they do in college. He also is training with a pro at a workout facility that does a fast paced workout that is a mix of cardio and weights. A lot of medicine ball and cowbell work. Working with the HS players from his former team, he is telling them that fitness is one of the biggest differences between college golf and top level HS golf. (here in TX)

On what page can we see the answer with the fade?
