I think i remember DS telling us Strat has replaced the 7-P or 8-P on his S56's as they were worn out

Mdgboxx, they are dirty, but when you see the pics of them cleaned, you won't believe they are PING's.
They have some deep wear on the faces. So much, he is getting a new set. He goes through at least two 8i-PW a year not counting his short game wedges.

From a family that has a lot of Orange Power, I absolutely love the bag and head covers. I am a former Poke (different sport) and also my cousin Pat was Oklahoma State to a tee. He was the Director of Basketball Operations under Eddie Sutton and no one loved Stillwater and what the town and school was about more then him. Unfortunately we lost him in the 1/27/01 plane crash but absolutely love seeing currect Student Athletes take so much pride in that University. Not only as a former athlete there but as someone who lost someone that cared so much of the Oklahoma State traditions.

Always appreciate your updates and let Stratton know the pride he shows in the University and the traditions does reach out to more then just this golfing community.

Why do I take this personally?

I'm just as anxious as everyone else to hear about it. What bugs me (a little) is, when the thread pops up in "replies to my posts", I'm expecting news or something more important than "when are you gonna post again?".

Deerslayer doesn't [i]owe[/i] us anything. He's doing one hell of a job keeping [u]his[/u] thead, about his son, up to date...Just saying.

I just looked up their roster and its only showing 6 players. Is this their entire team? Or just their scholarship players? Figured they would have more than 6. Anyways, I see their first tourney is at the end of the month. Keep us updated on qualifying!! Looking forward to following how Strat does this year!!

It looks like they have removed the graduating seniors (Clark, Davis, Daugherty, Gooch, and Lee) and have not added their incoming athletes (Stevens, etc.).

All the schools start compiling the 2014-2015 season rosters in Late August (right now). Schedules and Rosters for the upcoming year should continue to get updated for another few weeks. Remember the UC schools don't even start school until the first week of Oct. this year! While all the incoming Scholarship athletes for schools are already set there are still a Lot of Walk-on competition and decisions that are being made right now and in the next few weeks.

Congrats to Stratton for getting his first start at the Carmel Cup this week at Pebble Beach. I know we will all be pulling for him!

That's a damn good lineup. I played in a few Kansas Amateur events versus Sam Stevens this summer, he can ball.

Sam an Stratton are roommates this year. Qualifying did not go as planned for Stratton. He had a 69 in the middle that helped him out. Just before he left for school 3 weeks ago, he developed a double miss with his driver. It was a struggle to say the least. On Karsten, if you are not on point off the tee, it will eat you up. It ate him up a couple of rounds too. Fortunately he recovered enough to make the start. oSu could have taken another player traveling as well, but they have an injury to a player. This event is a play 6 score 5 event and oSu will only play 5 so they will not get too drop a score. The team is carrying 10 total players this year. Over the last full week, Stratton has begun to play well and it sounds like things are worked out with his driver. He laughingly told me last night that the one upside to hitting the ball so poorly was that his short game is spot on right now due to how much he has had to depend on it :)

Pretty cool that his first start will be at Pebble Beach. The team will fly out today, play Pebble for four days and then will play Cypress Point once before they return. Golfstat should have live scoring for the event.

Doesn't seem that long ago......

LOL, it is actually Phil. He is friends with Rickie now and has met and played with quite a few of the other oSu players that are tour, but at the end of the day he would say Phil. Weird as it may be, Sergio is also a guy he is always pulling for.

Sergio is a lot easier to pull for these days. The Ryder Cup will temper that a bit for a few months but I was pulling for him at the Open and was moderately dissapointed when he left it in the bunker!
