1) He states they are not "true aftermarket" shafts
2) He states they were built for assembly in finished drivers ( thought they all were )
3) New uncut Alphas are 46", not sure why its 44.5"

Something doesnt add up, if they are "uncut" as he says he may be just looking at the butt section and thinks its uncut, so if it measures 44.5" there may be 1.5" of tipping without tip prep.

Bottom line- I would ask a lot of questions, ask for more pics, and be careful with this one. If it were one driver id say he doesnt know what hes talking about but if he has 10 of the exact same somethings up. Not sayin its fake for sure but somethings pretty off here.

I saw this same ad and was wondering the same. I thought this guy must have gotten hold of a bunch of "Made For" shafts that were discarded for QC reasons before they ended up being installed into the drivers. Who knows. I just think about the old adage, "if it's sounds too good to be true, it probably is..."

I'm guessing they were for an OEM and all were cut to length for mass installment is all, but then I wouldn't pay that for ANY shaft. Doesn't mean they're not "real". You see it alot from other Power Sellers on ebay (Rockbottm is one). Tips already prepped and cut to a length for mass installation.

I generally like the real aftermarket shafts...
My belief in the OEMs is that they get the crappy left overs and then brand it theirs - I'm assuming it's like the bottom 10% or something like that or things that aren't completely passed to aftermarket quality standards...
I may be wrong though...

I have never seen a Titleist Made for Fubuki

Diamanas yes and many other brands, just never a fubuki.
Mizuno & Callaway are the only ones that I know of that have made for versions.

Plus this is the alphas
Perhaps mass installation for 910 Titleist drivers? tipped 1/2 inch or so

I saw this auction last night too but didn't buy one. I saw 4 sold, 6 available and this morning the auction ended with 6 sold... so it seems a little fishy to me... glad I didn't buy one.

Yep, I bought one of these. Also, quickly returned it for a refund after I got a good look at it. Paint job was really not close. The lettering and graphics were too thick. Paint had specks of dust / dirt in it. White paint also looked smeared down near the tip.

Seller was very nice about the refund, and also paid return shipping. He pulled his listing, but emailed me this week after hitting the shaft himself, that he was convinced they were real and was going to re-list them.

Stay away...

As much as I troll, you think I'd seen this post. Especially as fond of the Alpha as I was. Anywho, hopped on a 60-stiff off the bay for cheap. Did some initial questioning and the guy seemed cool. Anyways, after paying and then did some sleuthing.. the shaft was purchased from the guy in the OPs ebay link.

Based off his reply to others and what was said here, the consensus was it was from, or going to, a 910 of some sort. So took it upon myself and emailed Titleist and heres what I got...


QUESTION:
Morning. I was interested in the 910D3 with Fubuki Alpha. I was curious to
know if that shaft is a made for Titelist. I see you have Blueboard/Kai'li
etc separated by made for and real. Thank you for clarifying.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Titleist. The only co-engineered shafts that we
have are the I'lima, Kai'li and Ahina - all made by Mitsubishi. These
shafts were created together to adjust for swingspeed and flex. We are
not offering any other co-engineered shafts for the 910 metals. All other
shafts are standard after market shafts including the Alpha.

Is the paint job a "made for Titleist" similar to ones for Kai'li and A'hina or is it similar to the real aftermarket Alphas?

There similar but have different weights, ie 72, instead of 70. Plus they made for will also have made for Titelist on it

I dont, but probably could get some pics. As far as the hologram sticker.. thats where part of the hangup comes from. It doesn come with one as they were cut short. (so said) I put a new Iomic on it and cant take it off without cutting.

I almost bought one, but I sent the seller a bunch of questions, these are fake. There is no holograms the paint job is so so, but he mentioned they are real because he is getting 30 more yards on his drive. also he is trying to fund his retirement as he mentioned that he was going to play golf if I had other questions to wait until he gets back in 4 hrs. nice man but stay away they are fake.

I purchased one of these, it is clearly a fake. I put my caliper to the shaft and the specs were way off. I also contacted Mitsubishi to confirm my specs and they said it is definitely a fake. Luckily the seller refunded my $$$. The seller's response was:

"Sorry you are not satisfied. I purchased these shafts from a surplus company. I personally used a regular flex in my driver and it performed wondrfully gining me 20 yards. You cartainly can return it for a full refund. Just used the return adddress on the box. As soon as you send me a return tracking number, I will issue your refund. Thanks for your time. As for them being fake, I would not know the difference. I am not a golf professional, just a retiree who is trying to supplement my social security. I can oly report what I am told and also that what my personal experience was."
