New Taylormade Driver on the horizon?

Dick's sporting goods is now offering the R7 460 cc driver at $249. With this significant price drop I imagine another driver is in the works. Would this be a correct assumption?

Well, the r7 460 has not been around for long. But, then again, TaylorMade always has a new driver on the horizon.

It wouldn't surprise me if Taylor Made has another driver on the horizon. Their life cycle for bringing out drivers is less than 6 months.

 

Just a guess here; but I bet Taylor Made probably has a 460cc composite crown driver in developement. My guess is this one will have 4 moveable weight ports for the ultimate in customization at the USGA's clubhead size limit. They are following the Callaway and Ping trends.

could you be mistaken? I saw their sunday add at Dicks and they have the exclusive R5XL 460's for $250......not the r7 460's

I had to log on to see that--no way that thing is already down to $250! Might be time to pick up another stick for the hell of it--at that price not too shabby!!

The new product that is coming out is not replacing the R7 425 or 460, although it is 460cc. The new product is called 460 DRAW, and it looks just like the R7 460, but the DRAW version does not have movable weights.

 

I'm in golf retail in Canada and it's due to launch in September for a price around $249-$299.

I saw that the R7 draw was online at edwin watts for $249. But why would TM drop the R7 with movable weights to the same price as the draw model. Doesn't make sense to me.

It doesn't say lefties only, and I added a right-handed model with 10.5 degrees of loft to my shopping cart and the price was $249.99. Quite an interesting deal, doesn't a place like Golfsmith have a 115% price guarantee?

It is selling for the same price as the close out R5 so this leads me to believe that there is something in the works

And the mystery deepens. Not only does the link I posted earlier no longer work, but the R7 460 isn't even listed on the web-site anymore. It has been replaced with the R7 Draw, while the Dick's exclusive R5 XL 460 is now listed for $199.99. I am kicking myself for not buying the R7 460 at that price.
