REAL OR FAKE CALLAWAY RAZR???

Is there anyway to tell if a Callaway Razr is real or not... side by side with clubs at Dicks it looks identical... stickers, etc... however, I put a call into Callaway to verify serial number and they said it didn't match any of their products??? Anyone ever experience this before??? Does that automatically mean it's fake??? They wouldn't tell me....

Post a picture of it for us, that will be the easiest way to determine.

If you bought it from someone online, tell them that Callaway said the serial number is no good and you want a full refund. You will probably get your answer in how they respond.

Actually a local guy... I've already contacted him and he swears it is real... Gonna call him again tomorrow and tell him I want the refund....

[left]I would go ahead and give Callaway another call tomorrow before you call the seller back. You may have just talked to a lazy customer service rep who didn't want to look up serial numbers

UPDATE.... the Rep at Callaway this morning told me that about 2% of their serial numbers can't be verified and that if it passes the magnet test it should be good to go... Well, it passed the magnet test but I'm still leery that I don't have authentic... I think I will go into Dick's or Golf Galaxy to verify today...

i had the same problem with my irons too when i called callaway, it turned out i had one number mis-read.

double check the number again, the laser etching is not clear at certain angles.

other than that i don't know what advice i can give.

Maybe try hitting head to head of an authentic RAZR vs yours. See if both SOUNDS the same, same weight, feel and performance.

Actually, it's funny you posted this. I saw the "assembled in china" shaft band on the driver i bought from you and got a little concerned. I called Callaway and got the same statement you did about the serial number. Upon side-by-side inspection, the magnet test, and the forgiveness of the club, it's real. Specifically, the font on the laser etched serial was a big thing that looks tough to match. Another biggie for me was that you've sold multiple brands of clubs on here, not just Callaway. Either way, I'm a big fan of the club.

Yeah, I bought two from a local guy at a pretty good price (NOT TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE PRICING BUT A GOOD PRICE) and had no use for 'em as I am gaming the R11... But when a potential buyer told me the serial number wasn't good through Callaway I got concerned... That's when I really started to do my research to make sure these were good... the LAST thing I wanted to do was sell something fake so I was prepared to have you return the driver to me and refund your money so I could go after this guy... but luckily as you and I both confirmed they were good to go... They matched perfectly so at first Counterfeit NEVER crossed my mind... Oh well... it's good to go now and I hope you enjoy your Driver Tailgate... Thanks for the purchase....
