Where do you want to be in town and how is the golf

Thinking of possibly moving to Spokane and would like to know where one would want to live and what the golf
Possibilities are in town. Proximity to hospitals is critical due to call schedules.

Golf in and around Spokane is pretty good....Besides the 3 or 4 city courses--Indian Canyon, The Creek at Qualchan and Down River--there are a few really nice ones within an hours drive....Floating Green in Coeur d'alene, Circling Raven about 30 miles south of that, StoneRidge and Twin Lakes up north a bit and a new course down by Wazzu that is supposed to be epic...

Very familiar with Spokane. Parents grew up there and are now back there and retired. I get up at least once a year to play and the must play are Indian Canyon, Creek at Qualchan, Circling Raven (Worley, ID - short drive), Chewelah (north short drive 27 holes), and some smaller old time tracks like Downriver, (Indian Canyon), Esmeralda, and Wandermere. I say old time I think short (by today's standards) with no long walk between holes, mature tree lined fairways, etc. If you are looking for easy access to the hospitals downtown, I'd look at the South Hill area around Hangman Valley GC or out near The Creek at Qualchan. Best parts of the Spokane area are North, South, and east in the Libety Lake area which has Meadowwood GC and Liberty Lake GC. LLGC has been recently rebuilt but I have yet to play it. If you are looking for easy access into downtown, Spokane has only 1 drawback and that is no north-south freeway. Division Street serves that purpose but at rush hour, good luck getting anywhere. Really good public golf in the Spokane area.

Good info here guys...how about the private courses in town? Do you have any info on them? Approximate cost? Wait lists or not??? Seems like there is plenty of good public golf around though.<br /><br />Thanks

Indian Canyon is an amazing old course. Played there about 5 years ago and with cart the cost was very reasonable/cheap. One of the most "eye-appealing" courses I have played.

We also played Hangman Valley, about the same price, but not near the course that I found Indian Canyon to be.

Circling Raven was great. If you are not on 24/7 call, it is a short drive out of town, but a must play. $80 weekday, $95 weekends IIRC

Just play Indian Canyon, then take the rest of your money to Palouse Ridge. It's one of my favorite courses in Washington.

looking to be in the area in late September. Weather should be good (right)? Palouse Ridge looks like a course worth the drive.
