This will be mine. Just purchased it off a wrxer but I know nothing about the putter other that its Japanese issued so if someone has any info on it please let me know.

I'd love to show my Betti, but it needs to get here first! It's just a standard BB53, so nothing like some of the eye candy in this thread, but I'm a little concerned that it might be a gateway putter...

The MC stands for Maruyama Crew or MC. Shigeki Maruyama was a very early Bettinardi user and has a line named after him and the Japanese success Bettinardi has had. The insert is probably 24Kt gold if I am not mistaken. It would be 335 grams approx if not stated differently on the sole.

I did find more info and I believe the insert is most likely a copper insert with the headweight of about 345

I knew it would be either copper or gold. I am very surprised at the head weight. Anyway a beauty for sure.

Yeah would you have thought it would be heavier? This is kind of a guess on the headweight from what someone has told me. I know for a fact its copper though. The putter comes in today so Im pretty pumped about it. Have to wait til tomorrow to bend it and regrip it and then it will be in the bag full time

I had thought it would be lighter, about 335 grams. It is a putter Bettinardi has made for some time now and the head weights could be diffierent than in the past. The 2000-2002 line were only heavy heads if they had an "H" on the hosel or in a few cases it might say BB XX-H on the sole. This is basically how the original line was done in the USA. The one you have is looks much newer and [i]is [/i]one of their Japanese line.

Please do not misunderstand IMHO it is a great putter, very attractive to the eye and can get the job done for sure. Being a Japanese market putter they are not easy to see in person. Plus Bettinardi does things differently for the International market. As I said, very nice,congrats on a great acquisition..

You are right. I got it today and it feels on the lighter side for sure. It actually doesnt really suit my eye and I have it up for sale in the BST

I did buy a few from Todd right after I found Bettinardi putters. But this was bought off eBay way back. At the time no one really knew what these were and how rare a BB1-SS-H actually was. After I purchased it I sent it to Bettinardi for some changes. At that time Glenn Z. was their pro fitter. He told me to NEVER sell this putter. He never said that for any other one I have had. The story goes that these were made at the request of DD. The 12 protos were made at that time. I do not know if DD ever gamed one but the floating face was a rare bird around Bettinardi and being DASS was a real bonus. I am down to this putter and a BB42-H. The greens at my club have been slow and at the weight they are I can get the ball to the hole w/o getting a hernia. I was lucky to get to know a few Bettinardi employees along with Bob who is always a gentleman and I bought several right from the factory.

I had reservations of the FIT face but it does work making the putter feel softer. But I like the plain version myself with the standard face. If I played on super fast greens all the time I think they would be perfect.

I will never be able to afford that Betti, but that was love at first sight for me too!

For the likes of me, regular peons, I will stick with the retail market FIT face Bettis.
