Razr Hawk Tour

Nice Stick
Well after switching back and forth for a while between an FT Tour and a Superdeep, I had finally settled on the FT Tour. That very night, got a head rattle. A couple days later, the head actually cracked open. Long story short, and read the link below for the whole thing, I lucked into a Razr Hawk Tour with a Voodoo XVS6 c/o of Callaway.

http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/502233-ft-tour-head-rattle-what-to-do/page__p__3456116?do=findComment&comment=3456116

Showed up today. First thoughts were that it looked a lot bigger than the FT Tour and that the shaft felt whippier. I assumed that was because of the extra .5" and because for some reason they used a .335 voodoo rather than the .350 in the FT Tour. Headed out to the range tonight and I believe I have found the gamer. This thing was long and very straight with a great trajectory. I would describe it as an easier-to-hit/more forgiving FT Tour. I feel like mishits are quite a bit less penal. In any event, I haven't read too much about this club on here, and it doesn't seem to get much tour love, but I thought I'd give a shout out to what I think is a very solid stick.

Seems like I like all the under-appreciated clubs: FT Tour, Superdeep, now Razr Hawk Tour.

Got mine with the PX 7.0 black graphite shaft and it is incredible. Lowest spin driver I have ever hit (including my 9015d). On solid struck shots, this club with this shaft is also one of the best feeling drivers I have ever hit, and it has that feeling that the ball is just exploding off the face.

I really like mine. I have the 8.5* with a stock rip stiff shaft in it. I keep fighting the urge to re-shaft but each weekend I go out and bomb this thing. Last Sunday I was 37 yards out on a 378 Par 4. Now to be honest it is very dry in Western Ky but still it was a good drive. This Par 4 is also up hill for the last half. I feel like 300 yards and more are possible each time I hit the sweet spot. I just want my desire to reshaft to go away. Sometimes I just want to be happy and satisfied. Constant hoing gets old and expensive.

That was a fortuitous "break" for you I guess.... har har. Glad that it was replaced with something that works, if not better. I didn't like the FT-Tour with the stock X-Con 6 and didn't keep it for long, but I took a gamble with the Razr Hawk Tour and installed my Ahina without even hitting it first, and it has paid off big time. It is an amazing driver, and I've ho-ed many...

I've been playing the FT-9 Tour for a few years now with a Speeder 757 and have been wanting to upgrade and it seems like the RHT would be a likely replacement. Hearing good things about the Diablo Octane Black tour also though...

Thinking maybe RHT with the new Motore Speeder 7.2x.
Anybody tried this combo?

that is interesting. This is in my top 3 if I give in and re-shaft the RHT. I had the Ahina in my R11 and it did not work for me in that club. For some reason I do not like 70 plus gram shafts in my driver.

RHT reminds me a lot of the FT-9 Tour. Like I said above, it's like a bigger more forgiving FT Tour. Kind of shaped a bit more like the FT-9. Definitely worth a shot I'd say.

got a note from a longtime ft-3, shoot in the 60s player saying he put the r11 in play a few months ago only to run into an old buddie in match play who convinced him (after a severe drubbing) to order an RHT with a motore f3.. he says he'll be buried with this stick and even then you'll have to get a set of pliers to rip it out of his hands.. given how long he played the ft-3 he might be believed.. we'll see.. I sure liked the testing I did with the RHT but I've been playing well and the last thing I want to do now is change anything in my bag... over the winter I will go back to forged heads (likely the J40 pc's) and might update the driver with the latest and greatest Cally... I just seem to hit them well...
