How much would the best driver TM ever made fetch?

r510df proto w/ Fuji Tour Spec 771ta stiff

I don't think I'd actually pull the trigger since this is the best driver I've ever owned . . . but I'm not really one to keep extra clubs lying around so I'm just curious. I recently picked up a tour r7 425 w/ Rombax 75S and have been playing with it for about 3 or 4 rounds. Very impressed overall.

I don't play nearly as much golf as I used to these days and I've always found that my "back-ups" never, ever find their way back into the varsity bag so I really don't like keeping extras around. So I'm just curious as to how much my beloved 8.5* r510df proto w/ tour spec 771ta stiff in very, very, very good condition would fetch these days . . .

$200? $300? Or ???

Everyone who hasn't played one, wants one, but the thing is they go for so damn cheap. Here are my feelings, this is such an awesome driver, and awesome shaft, and they go for soooooo cheap, I'd rather keep it sitting in the corner to look at it now and again than to get rid of it for cheap.

20 years from now it will mean more to you just to still have it.......kind of a conversation piece. :cheesy:

That's pretty much how I feel about it . . . I saw a couple go in the low 200's with a more run of the mill shaft so even with this great combo, I think I'd be either lucky or reaching to get $300. From that bounty, I can rush down to the golf shop and buy a nice bag and an umbrella! Hardly seems worth it.

Me thinks this is the one club that I'll keep around even if I don't hit it again for the next two years. And maybe you're right . . . 20 years from now, I'll whip it out and smack it around and think to myself "they just don't make like they used to!" :D

Long live TM's R500 Series, particularly these (5) models. These are some of the finest heads ever made and the R500 sereis offered some nice size variation too!

- R500 Tour (325cc)

- R510 (330cc) - The non-conforming model R510 was also briefly sold in the USA

- R510-TP (390cc)

- R540XD-TP Tour (400cc)

- R580XD-TP Tour (440cc)

With a premium shaft (such as a 757 Speeder), ANY one of the above drivers is still as good as it gets and those of us that can appriciate workability like the R500 and the original R510. Of course, the R510-TP got all the glory and is the pick of the litter for most, but ALL these are great PLAYER's drivers.

i bought a df with a cheap shaft in it for $150. i putt a VTLT in it and set the reserve at $150, which it never met. i then pulled the shaft and sold the head only for $135.00 i figured i got a really good deal at$150 but it turns out i overpaid. the club felt good but i liked the retail tp better.
